@domi i'm really annoyed by this kinda stuff because like, do those people even want us to package things at all i'm so tempted to dump all but necessary rust software from the repository and say "if you like cargo and rustup so much, maybe you should use them" but i won't because it's not the users' fault and i don't wanna be petty but at the same time, this ecosystem is like the only one that is consistently giving me random pains like that, like it's punishing me for keeping up with it

@april @domi somehow doubt this is gonna help because downstream triples are downstream for a reason, but there is one already because alpine has that issue too so i'll just piggyback it https://github.com/rust-lang/cc-rs/issues/1407 the vendor field in the triple exists for a reason though, it's meant to be flexible and not something you hard error on

@wyatt @cas @RahulVadhyar@treehouse.systems i mean it's not like i don't feel for those who want to have their single type of window decoration in the system because their former system provided that and the replacement does not, but no matter what you end up doing someone will inevitably dislike it and/or there will be some technical blockers why not do it, so i don't think there is any single thing that will make everyone happy
