@sundogplanets@mastodon.social I dont see any reason to freak out about it. They are low orbit sats with natural fallback of 5 years, spacex could go bust and all the sats left and it'd all be gone in a few years. They all are designed to full burn up before risk to ground and no evidence of them failing to fully burn after hundreds of burns. The real shit you should worry about is high orbit sats that are 20 years old and actually able to cause Kessler syndrome.

...even when i try to do the most simple of things such as having a website be public (not even a domain) i cant get past and the "solution" I'm always offered is "oh just pay xyz to do a reverse conboulator for it".

@nixCraft@mastodon.social I think he would've changed his tune had he known of the new art forms that computers made possible.

@rasmus91 @nixCraft this is about the digital signing that tells windows a program is safe/verified by MS, they don't exactly get a choice.

@fj Ok ik American trucks are massive, but could you atleast have used a graphic that actually compares trucks and not the smallest form factor style car against a vehicle that *has* to be large enough to haul stuff.

I don't understand it. True self hosting seems like a completely dead concept and the idea of even trying is wrapped in financial costs i cant even hope to begin to grasp. There's been dozens of times I've wanted to do self hosting of tons of different things, only to find a million things working against me and all the seemingly knowledgeable people have no clue why its hard for me.

@tinker@infosec.exchange discord didn't drop the verification. They delayed it.

@noboilerplate it falls in the same category as CSS as a 3d modeler or Typescript's type system for running doom, sure its possible but its slow painful and on par with esoteric langs like brainfuck.

@noboilerplate I just wish he did it evenly. Files aren't that hard to control.

@superbetsy@mastodon.social smh a y-axis up? Smh
