@molly0xfff@hachyderm.io This reminded me of an error message I used to get sometimes back when I used to use windows it read: "Everything has stopped working!". Everything was a search tool I had installed, but it made for an alarming error message when it crashed.

Here is the 'virtual poster' from the lightning talk that I just gave at the Software Preservation Showcase event hosted by the Digital Preservation Coalition. Interesting event with a great discussion afterwards.

This is a magnificent satirical illustration of the absurdly board scope of California's operating system level age attestation law: https://agelesslinux.org/
Clearly no one who understands how OSes are made and distributed was involved in drafting this travesty.

@cstross@wandering.shop this is what I got from Transcribro (https://github.com/soupslurpr/Transcribro) permanence was a thing of whispers and rumour, routinely abnulliated by those who might otherwise record it clearly, because if an ascendant house felt themselves, produced, they might demonstrate their displeasure with the gossip-mongers by plucking out tongues and administering hydrofluoric acid enemies.

@aaron @contrasocial @GrapheneOS Have you considered a USB-C to 3.5m jack adapter (you can get ones that let you charge at the same time if you need to) and backing up to a home server instead of an SD card - in my experience those things die way more often than internal flash?

@aaron@chirp.zadzmo.org I would certainly like to have the option of additional replaceable storage in the form of a microSD card or similar device. But I've made the compromise for GrapheneOS's privacy & security features. Everyone has their own trade-offs to make though.
Apart from the cloud lock-in is may reduce a potential source of variation in testing and. development for them - they don't need to worry about things working correctly if someone uses a slow flaky sd card

@bagder@mastodon.social @gonzo_askold@mastodon.social @orpach.neocities.org I think @guix@hachyderm.io may have the current highest fraction of reproducible builds in their main repo: https://qa.guix.gnu.org/branch/master If I'm interpreting their rather hard to find and minimal status page correctly. ~92.4% (34,765 of 37,618) of their packages are reproducible.
