Under maritime law, particularly the principle known as the duty to rescue, there is an obligation for those at sea to assist individuals in peril, including drowning sailors. This is often referred to as the Good Samaritan Law in many jurisdictions

The Iranian warship that was sunk by a torpedo was returning from a joint exercise the #USA pulled out of on the last moment.
Per protocol joining ships were unarmed. Ships were unarmed
The murderers, #USN, knew they were unarmed, sank the ship and offered no help to the survivors.

The puddles on my road are so deep, that the wind is creating white caps.
The rivers are spilling over. Items floating downstream, to someday rest on my shore. Sometimes road signs & park benches, sometimes Tandem Kayaks & Kneeling Boards.

I reckon the snow hasn't finished here... Everything is white, not enough to cover the blades of grass, and I was good with that... and then, it started snowing again. This may change my plans for the day

Having grown up in an Old Boys Club environment, I'd pick up a cute sexist joke and my sister would rip me a new one. I was corrected a few times along the way. But, when we got women in the Navy, some paid lip service, others got involved. I went to the gender studies and sessions about the way forward.
With minor exceptions, most political failures and wars were the result of men. I'd like to see women replace many of those male dominated roles.
Put the toboggans away, and bring out the shovels!

RCN (Canadian Navy) and USN (US Navy) exercise together. Maybe we shouldn't, as we share very different humanitarian and obligation views.
They would sink us and annex our country, not to be trusted.

I used to have 4 women who worked in my department when they first came on board ship. 2 played the system, and one excelled above the men. But, when they competed, it wasn't in a fair system, they had to be better than the men in the forces to be noticed, and none of the men were helping them.

The dampness and coming storm makes my hip throb, it's almost made me a cripple. I'm speaking to my doctor about a BLUE handicap pass for my vehicle. My wife has her own.
Woke up to a dusting of snow, no biggie, then read the weather guy got 10cm already and we expect that much to come. That's probably between zero and 6 inches here. Expecting 4 inches but the wind strips it off parts of the yard and fills in valleys, and creates waves in the back of the vehicles.

@MAJ1@beige.party I shoveled from 11 pm to 1 am to make a walking path to the end of the driveway. in an hour, I start moving snow again. Sometimes it's 8 inches, sometimes you disappear into a drift, and it's all drifts

I drink coffee, and I'm going for another.
If you offer, I drink it black, but when home, I add a teaspoon of hot chocolate mix to my coffee, to make a mocha flavor and it's very comforting
DYK, I once faked a school report about a Condor Eagle that was so convincing the teacher gave me good grades but didn't know that that bird didn't exist (Before internet obviously) and I had made up details and nesting habits, all fake, complete BS, but I tell a good story. I was meant to be a sailor Hahah

I could never tell how much we got in total because of wind drifts. The wind struck the back and North side but rose over my knees at the doors. The lee side I shoveled clear at 10 pm and it's knee high and higher in drifts.

I was a shit disturber , I'm more of an armchair shit disturber now
But there's horror stories too. I have ADHD, I had it 30 years before they invented the term and the solution was to beat the shit out of me with a leather strap, my school companion .
But, we also had 5 guys in the class that *ran it* and made the teacher cry as early as 12 years old we did that.
But, I had teachers that didn't know the reason but stayed back to let me catch up. I remember the worst teachers and those who were worth their weight in gold.

haha, I've been dealing with remedies for my sleep disorders and this the first time I have stayed up, but I get curious about things when the house is quiet and fall down a worm hole pretty quick. About ten tabs open on my Chromebook and now I'm learning about Andean Condor.
