Normally, US supercarrier flight decks are chocka with parked a/c (the hangars aren't large enough to allow all a/c in her air wing to be struck down). As one doesn't drive 100k tonnes through a canal at anything like fixed wing a/c launch speeds (wind over the deck is required), presumably the air wing is temporarily deployed to a friendly airbase while transiting? #USN #CONOPS
