People who don't understand why Americans love pizza so much need to understand that it's the only way you can get hot fresh baked bread in this country.

Workers of the world unite!
Happy may day everyone.
This memorial day I pray for the souls of those who foolishly choose to die in service to the empire

@CyclopsCaveman@glaceon.social the obvious solution that Whist one of the oldest competitive four player card games to exist arrived at is that you ban any discussion of anything that isn't open information about the game state ("what is your score?" "How many tricks have you taken?") or totally immaterial to the game ("how's the wife", "lovely weather" ect.)
I have an old Whist etiquette guide that has instructions that it is appropriate to duel someone who repeatedly table talks

@dragon what I'm learning from this poll is that the shittier your state is the more American you are. Which makes my homeland of Alabama perhaps the third or second most American state.

@tholindeth @dragon these days Louisiana trumps both Alabama and Mississippi as the single most miserable, dogshit, your baby is dead and you have no money place to live in the US of A.

@senj@surf.cyberspace.club I have easy access to mid tier fast food places as well and spend a lot less on than a million bucks for my housing.
Absolutely unbelievable sticker encounter wandering DC today.
I have no idea what an English language sticker of the Lubavitch proclaiming him to be both alive (he died in 1994) and the messiah is meant to communicate. To my knowledge the Hasids aren't getting evangelical so I have no idea what this is supposed to mean.

Learning more about Commander makes me think that it would be interesting to attempt a "no table talk" form of competitive commander where discussing deal making, hidden info and collaboration isn't allowed and it's up to players to understand how to best manipulate the game state using their cards. Also ban Rystic Study because that card is stupid.

I looked it up and yes any form of collusion is against the rules in Yu-Gi-Oh and any words or deeds performed with even the *intent* to collude or misrepresent a game state earns you a temporary suspension from play.
Two players agreeing to draw for instance would be an immediate suspension.

@CyclopsCaveman@glaceon.social Whhhaaaaaat? Yu-Gi-Oh is not a 4 player game but resolving card effects correctly is already really hard without some kind of moral discussion in the middle. I think trying to guilt an opponent into doing something to change the game in your favor would be against the rules. It would also be SO ANNOYING

@CyclopsCaveman@glaceon.social as a Yu-Gi-Oh player cEDH is completely inscrutable to me. Yu-Gi-Oh players are so distrustful of each other and so convinced that everyone is doing everything possible to win for themselves that it is REQUIRED to cut the opponents deck after a shuffle and some people will reshuffle the whole deck just to be extra sure. The idea of tolerating open king making is unfathomable to me. A judge would on the spot DQ you for match fixing.
