Andy Hunt is a musician, programmer, consultant, award-winning/best-selling author and publisher. One of 17 authors of the Agile Manifesto, co-founder Pragmatic Bookshelf publishers. If you pitch AI "solutions" you are dead to me.
Remember when computers were *not* adversarial, privacy and soul-sucking demons shredding every aspect of humanity?

Never, ever use GoDaddy. I mean I never have, for a variety of reasons, but this really takes the cake:

Er, what do you mean, Backblaze silently doesn't actually backup everything? WTF? You had one job!
Cool to see lists of "laws of software engineering" where several of them came from me ;)

I am of course patting myself on the back, but srsly, when shit gets weird, go back and pay attention to fundamentals. There's a good reason why they are still around.
He's right, but *everything* is tradeoffs. There is rarely a concept of a single correct answer. We made that point hard back in The Pragmatic Programmer 1stEd, and not only has it not changed, I posit it's even MORE important today.

Any networking fans (ethernet, wifi, dhcp, not interpersonal) here?
Because my previous ISP is going bankrupt and due to physical limitations of long-run cables, I have to bring in the new Internet feed to the middle of the LAN, and the main Nighthawk router (which does NAT and DHCP) is not at all happy at having a WAN in the middle of its LAN. (ya got peanut butter in my chocolate!)
Suggestions on the easiest, cleanest, safest way to address? (I can't run extra cables)
