Nothing bad at all! 😇 Just a longer Tuesday's Journal Toot. So this should save some folks from scrolling too much 😇
#Journal of a Dutch AuDHD Pixy :pixy_party: (Tuesday, 22/09/2026). After a bit of a decent night, with almost 7 hours of sleep in total, I woke up again, and saw that it was time to start our "day". So, I got up, let Koa out of his crate, and we started our routine. I made Koa his food, and then I let him out so he could do his business. I took my meds, and when Koa was ready, we headed to the couch. I got my laptop out, and started writing my email reply to my sweet friend. I wanted to check something in my blog app, and then I saw that Monday’s post had never been shared. It was all ready to go, but I guess that, instead of pressing “schedule”, I only hit the save button. I was so bummed as I was afraid that this meant I lost my 6+ years daily posting streak. 😢 I quickly shared the post, and got back to the email. Before I could finish it, Koa was letting me know that he was eager to go out for walkies. So, as a good servant to my little lord, I obeyed his wishes and we headed out. We had our little walk, and it was more chilly night, with it being about 12°C. Koa did his things, and I cursed about the damned rabbits again. They always run off the field when they see us coming. But then, they go ahead a bit, wait till they see Koa again, and go ahead some more. Koa, with his love of chasing moving things, will try to pull me out of my shoes if I'm not careful! And besides Koa liking to follow the long-eared fluffy things, he also enjoys their droppings. 🫣 When we came back from the walkies, I was able to finish the reply to my friend. I fixed myself some breakfast and then ate it, of course. I got back to my laptop, and made sure that today’s blog post, the weekly journal one, was all ready and scheduled to go live at 7am. I wasn’t sure yet about the streak, due to messing up the scheduling of Monday’s post… But, Tuesday’s post was all set, so I wanted to start writing Monday’s journal Toot. But, after just a few lines, there came some sound from a brown furry dude, and it meant that it was time again to head out for some walkies. We were getting close to home, when I heard the louder noises from the bushes, as did Koa. It sounded like the time we saw that deer near some of the smaller trees. But this time I didn’t have a bright light, so we just heard the noises and assumed that the deer/doe was back again. It still amazes me that such a fine animal would leave the nearby woods, as I recon that’s where its home is, to come into the residential area. But, it was just a suspicion, based on the sounds we heard, as it was too dark to actually see if there was a deer behind the trees and bushes again. Back home, I wrote a bit on my journal Toot. Then, it was time to fix some food for the sweet dude. I was able to finish up Monday’s journal and upload it to the usual places. After that, I was glad that I could put the laptop away, as it had been quite a bit of typing, and my hands could do with a bit of rest. I watched a bit of Revenge while I tried to relax for a bit. I got hungry and fixed myself some earlier meal. After which, of course, it was time again to walk with the dude. I was just trying to get comfy on the couch when my phone rang. Bestie was on her way to work again. And Koa “attacked” me when he heard someone speaking, but could not see anyone besides me. Maybe he tried to protect me, in his own way, but getting about 25 kilo in your stomach of a rather excited doggo… It knocks the wind out of you for a bit. 😅I had a nice chat with my friend. When she arrived at work safe and sound, we hung up, and I watched some telly for a while. Another walk with the dude happened, and then I tried to play a wee bit with him and his balls in the back yard. After we’d been chasing each other, kicking and throwing balls, I got a bit dizzy of Koa’s running around with all his crazy energy. He stayed in the garden a bit longer, while I got inside and prepped a little snack for both him and me. I watched some more telly, and was just getting ready for another walk, when mum texted me that she was on her way to us. We walked our bit, and I was watching some Found when mum came into the garden. Koa was preoccupied with watching people and dogs at the low front window, so it startled him when mum opened the back door. A big bark came, and when he saw her, he rushed towards her. Fortunately, mum was prepared, and things went well enough. As mum was a bit early, I wanted to try and use the normal vacuum cleaner. It needed to be done, and I wanted to see if I could manage it by myself again. Mum helped a bit by getting some things, and Koa 😉, out of the way. I was sweating like crazy when the downstairs area had been done. But, hey, I did do it by myself! The little vacuum did its best, but it was not the best sucker, and cleaning the filter was quite an annoying chore. I cleaned up the bits, got the needed bags, and mum got Koa on his leash. Mum took Koa to the grassy area for a wee before we had to go, and I gathered up the cooler and my shopping bag. We would make a pit-stop at Lidl before heading to physio. I got the things I needed there, and then we got to my PT. After some waiting, it was my turn. Koa got a nice snack, which really was a good thing, as this time he didn’t scare the bejeezus out of Big Bas with his sudden loud barks. Bas did his best on my back and shoulders. And he managed to get a “knack” from my right elbow, which I had tried to do myself but just could not manage. It hurt, but it also felt so good when it was done. After the session, we headed back to Herpen again. Mum walked Koa around the grassy area again, while I cleaned up the groceries and then fixed Koa’s food. Koa was eating when mum headed back home, and I started preparing for bedtime. Koa did his best, and he peacefully snoozed before I got comfortable enough to try and follow his lead. Unfortunately, I didn’t get enough sleep, about 5 hours in total. When it was time to get up and start our “day” again, I felt tired still. But, Koa had been crated for quite a bit, and it was time for his food and potty break. So, I got up and we started our now usual routine. Thanks to all for your kindness and support during my "journey through daily life" :bear_love: I really appreciate it :bear_hugs: as it helps me to keep going on bad/harder days! :bear_nuzzle: :pixy_party: 💜 🍀 🐾 #PixysJourney #WeirdFolks #ActuallyAuDHD #KoaKoolani

#BooksIn2026 #Bookstodon #Reading I've recently finished another John Grisham book: The Chamber. I had seen the movie a few times, but I had never read the book. So now, I have... And I have to say, I enjoyed the movie, but the book was better, especially with details on the way to the chamber... If that makes sense... I checked several websites, some I'll link in this toot. I tried to make a spoiler-free text about the book, the characters, the reception by critics and fans, and how the book and the movie compare with each other. Links: https://jgrisham.com/the-chamber/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Chamber_(novel) https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5355.The_Chamber https://www.supersummary.com/the-chamber/summary/ Synopsis: Published in 1994, The Chamber is one of John Grisham’s darker, more character-driven legal thrillers, stepping away from corporate espionage and diving straight into the heavy moral waters of capital punishment, racism, and family shame. The story centers on Adam Hall, an idealistic twenty-six-year-old rookie associate at a prestigious Chicago law firm. Right out of the gate, Adam makes a move that baffles his bosses: he volunteers to take on an unwinnable, career-risking pro bono case. His client is Sam Cayhall, a notorious, unrepentant former Klansman sitting on death row at the Mississippi State Penitentiary (Parchman Farm). Decades earlier, in 1967, Sam was implicated in a fatal bombing of a civil rights lawyer's office that claimed the lives of two young boys. Now, after years of trials, appeals, and delays, Sam has finally run out of options—his execution in the gas chamber is scheduled in just four weeks. Nobody understands why an up-and-coming lawyer would touch such a toxic case, but Adam harbors a deeply buried secret: Sam Cayhall is his estranged grandfather. Determined to confront his family's traumatic past and perhaps find a sliver of redemption, Adam travels down to the sweltering Mississippi Delta. What follows is a tense, ticking-clock procedural as Adam frantically navigates last-minute legal maneuvers, hostile prison politics, and stubborn resistance from an uncooperative grandfather who isn't sure he even wants to be saved. Along the way, Adam must untangle decades of buried lies, political maneuvers, and dark secrets about what really went down the morning the bomb went off. Characters: Here are the core players driving the tension in The Chamber: Adam Hall (born Adam Cayhall): The young, idealistic lawyer at the center of it all. Fresh out of law school and working at a massive, conservative Chicago law firm, Adam seems to have it made—except he’s haunted by a family history he was forced to bury. Growing up under an assumed name after his father tried to erase all ties to the Cayhall legacy, Adam is driven by a mix of morbid curiosity, legal ambition, and a desperate need to make sense of the generational trauma handed down to him. Stepping into Parchman prison isn't just a legal assignment for him; it's a personal reckoning. Sam Cayhall: Adam’s grandfather and Parchman Farm’s most notorious resident. Sam is an old, hardened, lifelong white supremacist and former Ku Klux Klan member convicted for the 1967 bombing. Unlike many death row inmates who plead innocence or beg for mercy, Sam begins the story bitter, deeply cynical, and emotionally walled off. He despises pity, distrusts lawyers, and is initially hostile to Adam’s sudden appearance. He’s a complicated, uncomfortable figure: unapologetic about his hateful past, yet weary from decades behind bars and facing the grim reality of the execution chamber. Lee Cayhall Booth: Adam’s aunt and Sam’s estranged daughter. Living a comfortable, suburban life in Memphis, Lee has spent decades trying to drown her past in high society and heavy drinking. The Cayhall name is a shadow she has never truly managed to escape, and Adam’s sudden crusade to reopen the family wounds terrifies her. She serves as a tragic window into how the sins of a patriarch can quietly poison the lives of the children left in the wake. Earle: Adam's late father (Sam's son), who looms large over the entire narrative despite being gone before the story begins. Unable to bear the crushing weight, public humiliation, and guilt of his father's heinous crimes, Earle changed his family's name, relocated them north, and spent his life running from the past until it ultimately destroyed him. His ghost is what pushes Adam to confront Sam directly. Governor David McAllister: The politically ambitious, tough-on-crime Governor of Mississippi. For McAllister, Sam Cayhall isn't a tragic grandfather or a symbol of a complicated Southern history; he's a political asset. With public sentiment heavily favoring the death penalty, the governor sees carrying out Sam's long-delayed execution as the ultimate trophy to cement his reelection campaign, putting him directly at odds with Adam's legal scramble. How was the book received: When The Chamber arrived in May 1994, it became a massive commercial juggernaut, but it also proved to be one of John Grisham’s most polarizing and debated works. Commercial Reception & Sales Commercially, it was an undeniable phenomenon: It shot straight to #1 on the New York Times Bestseller list and stayed on the charts for months, ending up as the bestselling novel of 1994 in the United States. Coming off the runaway success of The Firm, The Pelican Brief, and The Client, the initial print run broke publishing records at the time, solidifying Grisham as an author whose name alone guaranteed blockbuster sales. Critical Reception Critics were somewhat divided, though many recognized it as Grisham’s bid to push beyond breezy pulp thrillers into more ambitious literary territory: The Praise: Outlets like People, USA Today, and the San Francisco Chronicle praised the novel for its thematic weight, calling it a dark, compelling, and thoughtful examination of capital punishment. Critics noted that Grisham handled the procedural claustrophobia of death row and the grim machinery of the state execution apparatus with stark authenticity. The Critiques: Other reviewers felt the book dragged in the middle compared to his earlier roller-coasters. Because the ending is practically locked into a fatalistic timeline from chapter one, some critics argued it lacked the unpredictable legal fireworks of A Time to Kill or the breathless pacing of The Pelican Brief. A few reviewers also found the shift from breathless thriller to somber anti-death-penalty morality play a bit heavy-handed. Fan & Reader Reactions Among Grisham fans, The Chamber stands as one of his most distinct departures, eliciting a wide range of reactions: Character Study vs. Traditional Thriller: Readers who loved the book appreciated its focus on generational trauma and family guilt. Watching a young man try to unpack decades of silence, alcoholism, and hatred within his own bloodline gave the story an emotional gravity not often found in standard courtroom fiction. A Hard-to-Root-For Protagonist Pair: For some fans, the central dynamic was a tough pill to swallow. Having a client who is an unrepentant, virulent Klansman made the book emotionally taxing. Readers expecting a heroic innocent client (like in many classic legal thrillers) found Sam Cayhall deeply uncomfortable to spend hundreds of pages with. Tone and Pacing: Fans often describe it as slower and more methodical. Instead of wild plot twists and high-stakes chases, the tension comes from the relentless ticking of the clock and the bureaucratic bleakness of Parchman Farm. While it didn’t deliver the easy escapism of The Firm, it gained respect over time as a serious, morally complex entry in Grisham's catalog—one that directly influenced his own real-world stance as an outspoken advocate against the death penalty. Book to movie: Released in the fall of 1996, the film adaptation directed by James Foley starred Chris O'Donnell as Adam Hall, Gene Hackman as Sam Cayhall, and Faye Dunaway as Lee Bowen (Booth in the novel). Unlike earlier box-office juggernauts like The Firm and The Pelican Brief, the movie version of The Chamber stumbled heavily. It became a critical and financial disappointment, grossing roughly $22.5 million against an estimated $45–$50 million budget. Even John Grisham famously disowned it, publicly calling the film a "disaster" and "train wreck," while maintaining that Gene Hackman was the only bright spot in the entire production. Reception by Critics and Audiences Praise for Gene Hackman: Hackman’s performance received near-universal acclaim. Critics noted that he fully committed to Sam Cayhall’s vitriol and exhaustion without sentimentalizing him, carrying virtually every scene he appeared in. "Grisham Fatigue" and Pacing Issues: By late 1996, audiences had already seen multiple legal thrillers (including A Time to Kill just months earlier), as well as heavyweight death row dramas like Dead Man Walking. Many critics found the film flat, sluggish, and emotionally hollow compared to those films. Roger Ebert was particularly uncomfortable with the way the screenplay lingered over vile hate speech without offering deeper moral or philosophical resonance. How the Movie Compares to the Novel The disconnect stemmed largely from behind-the-scenes friction: the film rights were purchased before Grisham had even finished writing the manuscript, leading director James Foley and the studio to take significant liberties with the story: Loss of Generational Context: In the book, the emotional core is the devastating aftermath of hate—how Sam's past poisoned his children and led to tragedy long before Adam stepped foot in the prison. The film significantly reduces the Cayhall family history, turning Lee (Faye Dunaway) and Adam’s father into secondary plot points rather than living evidence of intergenerational trauma. Simplification of the Investigation: The novel dedicates massive amounts of time to the sheer mechanics of death penalty litigation—endless appeals, federal habeas corpus motions, and late-night research into decades-old court transcripts. The film streamlines this into a more conventional Hollywood countdown thriller, losing the procedural authenticity that makes the book's final act so claustrophobic. Tone and Edge: Grisham wrote the novel with a somber, restrained, and reflective tone. The movie attempted to punch up the drama with sharper theatrical confrontations and melodramatic flourishes, which fans of the book felt flattened the story's moral complexity into a standard TV-movie-of-the-week formula. While Hackman’s performance makes the film worth a look for die-hard fans, the consensus remains that the novel is vastly superior in its emotional depth, nuance, and character development. #JohnGrisham #TheChamber #Books

It's been a while since I did one of these... Every time I try to do them more, it seems things happen, that make it harder for me to do these...

What, you say? 🤔

Well.... The Three Good Things of course!

:bear_guitar: Three Good Things :bear_dance:

  1. Having not one but two sweet friends come over and help me with chores to make my/our home better! :bear_love:

  2. Trying to get a wee bit more exercise in my routine again, as much as my dog and back will allow...

  3. Writing for my blog, to help clear out all my rambling thoughts, so I can see things more clearly again.

And, I have an extra one!

  1. Having such lovely support from the people here on Masto, that show up when I need them the most! You truly make a positive difference! :bear_nuzzle:

:kirby_prideheart: Ello sweet and lovely Friendos :purple_heart_sparkle: It seems that Pixy's Journey is continuing on a new path. I know all life is uncertain, however well you try to plan. And I know that some things will happen, but you can never really prepare for them... As these things happen in different ways for everyone, with some overlap of course, and there is no "set pathway" to follow, to make things easier... I've been experiencing symptoms that I have been dealing with for many years now. But... They were/are more intense. They are different than they used to be. And I got more and more frustrated at my incapability to deal with them properly. I got worse and worse, and I just could not understand why this all was getting so hard to deal with. And then... I made the connection. I should have realized sooner, when the temperature regulation issues got worse (and it wasn't due to fibro flare)... I was born with an uterus. It's never been of use to me, as I didn't want to be a mom, and the monthly issues were a struggle, are a struggle, to deal with. But it means that my "main hormone" is estrogen. And, as I am 46 now... I am in the "zone" to start the decline of the hormonal bits... I looked a bit online, and found out that many of my issues were indeed part of the peri. And... That people with ADHD may experience the decline in estrogen even worse, as it regulates, among others, dopamine... And, with most ADHD folks, the dopamine controls are already "out of the ordinary", so it can really enhance some negative effects of it all... This is one of the sites that I found with info about this: 🔗 https://steadystatehealth.org/how-estrogen-decline-impacts-dopamine-and-why-adhd-feels-worse-in-menopause/ So yeah... Pixy's Journey has started on a new path, a new road in their journey, where they need to find ways to deal with the peri period, and then the menopause that will follow. Someone has told me that, especially "us ADHD folks", could greatly benefit from HRT patches. But I know that many GPs aren't too keen on handing out these patches... So, before I dive in to this with my GP, I was hoping that other folks here, that are going through this, or have gone through this, could let me know about the patches. Did/dk you use them? And, if so, what are the main pros and cons of them? I'd like to be as informed as I can, so I can have a good talk with my GP, and so I know what I could be asking for. Thanks in advance for sharing your experience! :pixy_party: 🫂 🩵 💜 🩷 🐾 :dogeparrot: #PixysJourney

I had missed the last update that @MakerTube@mastodon.social was switching to a paid subscription model, to help cover the costs. But, I saw a Toot about it just now, and... I set up my subscription (with some efforts, as my brain fog 😶‍🌫️ was not helping me) plan, which now shows up on my profile info, so I guess I did it right! My little space on #MakerTube is currently using ±30GB. The plan I entered will support to 100GB, so... I should be OK to share more Koa vids (among others) for some time to come! 😁 https://makertube.net/a/pixys_vids/video-channels Thanks to the Admin and Mods of MakerTube.net for keeping the site ad-free and well moderated/updated. I'd rather support the platform with a small monthly fee, than hassle with ads and selling my data. #PeerTube #Subscription #AdFree

#Journal of a very sore, but also excited, Dutch AuDHD Pixy :pixy_party: (Monday, 27/07/2026). I didn’t have a very bad night, but I woke up a little earlier than I had hoped, and my back and bowels told me that it was time to get up, so… I did just that. The scale wasn’t as bad as I had thought it would be, and I got dressed. I fixed Koa’s meal, and took my meds. Then, we headed to the couch, where I started on my email to my sweet friend. When I was done, I fixed some brekkie, and I started on my journal toot. After brekkie was finished, I put away the laptop, and got ready for a walk with Koa. We walked the little longer SniffiVerse™ walkies again, a little over 2km, and Koa did great. When we got back, I hoped that Koa would be tired enough to snooze some, but his teefs were still bothering him, so I gave him a frozen banana lickimat. After that, he settled down for a while, and I was able to finish the journal bit. When it was uploaded to all the usual places, I put away the laptop. I watched some telly, while I edited a few Koa snaps on my phone, and while I worked a bit on a blog post. Koa and I went out for a short walkies, and then he got his meal. I fixed some food too, as I was feeling rather hungry. After the meal, I went upstairs, and took down, and folded, the dry laundry. I took it downstairs with me, and put it on the bed. I tried to relax for a while, as today was going to be a long day, with the coach coming first, and then my friend coming to help me with the back garden. So, after the chores were done for a bit, Koa and I went to the bedroom, where we relaxed for a little while. When my brain got too jumpy from “doing nothing”, I got up again, walked Koa, tried to clean a bit, and then I watched TV until the doorbell rang, and the coach arrived. We started on the papers that needed to be in order, which was quite some work… I had not expected bestie just yet, as I got her text late, so I thought she was running late. When the doorbell went about 10 minutes later, I was very surprised when it was her. I was finishing up with the coach, and bestie took Koa out for a little walk. When they got back, we were rounding up things as well. So, the coach left, and bestie, and I got ready to start the hard work. There was some rain, but it quickly ended, and we went outside. We started by pulling out all the pins, and then I had to take of the little turf that Koa had been using a lot. I tried to put it in the container, and with some wiggling, it went in. It was a smelly job, even with all the rinsing I had given the turf. The root-fabric came off, and bestie started the hard work of raking the soil. We have a clay soil, and the area was quite bumpy. I found a little slat, that bestie could use to level the soil with, as much as possible. While she was doing that, I fixed up some lunch. After a break we started with putting the fabric back. We added a few new bits to really close it off as good as possible. Then, we started adding the grass. Cutting it to the right size was a bit challenging, but we managed to get it all in. Around 2pm, we were dead and done. And, Koa was allowed to break in the new grass with a new ball… That didn’t last him too long haha. But, I took a little video, and he seemed to love it, running around like an idiot, haha. Bestie got ready to head home again, And then Koa and I got ready to head to bed, as we were both rather tired. It didn’t take too long for Koa to start snoozing, and a little while after that, I was able to get comfy, and doze off too. I woke up once, for the loo, and Koa was still snoring peacefully. When I woke up again, it was just after 23, which meant that Koa had gone without a potty break for about 8 hours! He must have been really tired (and getting better at controlling his bladder). I quickly got up to let him out, and together, we started our new “day”.

Nothing bad at all! 😁 Just a rather long journal Toot for Wednesday, so this should save some folks from scrolling too much 😇
#Journal of a slightly relaxed Dutch AuDHD Pixy :pixy_party: (Wednesday, 16/09/2026). I had a very different kind of night. I did wake up a few times, but when I woke up the last time, and I saw the time… Well, I was amazed at how long I had been able to sleep, how long Koa had allowed me to sleep… The sleep had been very welcome, but my body was a bit stiff, and I felt a bit “off”, as I had woken up later than usual, making it harder to stick to the usual routine. I had “things to do”, and now I felt like I had less time to do them in. But, I also knew that I had no appointments that day, so that I could take my time, and just follow Koa’s flow to relax as well. Koa had his meal and potty break, I had taken my meds and gotten dressed, so we headed to the couch. I got my laptop, so I could write my reply email to my sweet friend. But, before I had the time to finish that, Koa wanted to head out. So, that’s what we did. When we got back, Koa was a bit restless, and I had no idea what was bothering him. But, I gave him a nice new rawhide treat, and he was a very happy dude. Which gave me the time and rest I needed to finish my email. After I'd sent the email, I fixed myself some brekkie and ate it. I was trying to finish up today's blog post when Koa got a bit restless again. So, another walkies was happening. When we were almost home, there was a sound that I didn't recognize, and that startled Koa. It was too loud for the usual animals in the area. So, when I heard something again, I used my head light and... Wow! This was a first! She was partially hidden by some smaller trees and bushes, but she looked at me while I held Koa tight and stared in awe at her. There was a beautiful deer, standing not too far away from the small trees in front of the sound wall. When I'd seen her, looking a bit caught in the moment, I quickly turned off my light, and made sure that Koa was heading back to the house. I don't know if he smelled her, if he'd been able to see her from his point of view. But I wanted to keep him close to me, and leave the beautiful doe in peace. But, I was so surprised to have seen her, so close to my home. I've been here over two years now, and this is the first doe I've seen here. I saw a deer a while ago, when a friend and I were walking at the Herperduin. But, I would expect to see them there, but not here, so close to the highway and residential area. I still had some adrenaline in me while I was working on Thursday's blog post. I fixed a meal for my sweet dude, and then I was able to finish up on Monday's journal Toot. After that, I started writing the one for Tuesday as well. It was almost finished, when Koa wanted another walk. We had to take the grey container to the curb, as it was bin day, and they usually come rather early here. As I had to hold both the bin and Koa in my left hand, it wasn't too ideal. But, we managed, and then we were on our way. Koa got some sniffs in, and some naughty snacking... We just got home, and I was taking Koa's leash off, when bestie called me on her way to work. While we chatted, I fixed some food for myself. I had a nice meal and then finished Tuesday's journal Toot. I posted it in the usual places, and then it was time for another short walk with the dude. We tried to relax for a while, and I kept checking the delivery app, as the big and heavy crate for Koa was on its way to us, and I didn't want to miss it. While we were waiting, Koa was full of energy. As the weather was OK for a bit, I got his ball and we went into the garden. After some time, I got my phone, and I tried to take a little vid of the enthusiastic dude. I hoped that all the running around, and some silly acting on my part would have helped Koa to release some of his excessive energy. I know he needs longer walks, and some more playtime. I hate not being able to provide it enough at the moment. I saw a white van pull up, and I rushed to be in the hallway first, so I could close the door before Koa could get there. If they try to come in with a 30kg parcel, then a crazy jumpy barking idiot will not be helpful at all... The delivery man was kind enough to put the big and heavy box in the hallway. When the front door closed, I allowed Koa in so he could inspect his home for intruders. With some efforts, and no help from Koa, I managed to get the box in the living room. After some more playing with Koa, it was time to fix his food. It was getting a bit darker outside. While Koa was eating, it started to rain for a while. After Koa was done, I felt so sore. Even though I had a better night, it wasn't enough to make me feel all rested again. I guess I'll be needing loads of better nights, to compromise for all the bad, broken, short ones. Koa went outside while it was dry and sunny again. I prepped everything for some relaxing on my bed. Koa came inside, he got a snack, and I watched a series on my tablet. When I let Koa in, I thought I'd heard people walking with their empty bins. But, as it turned out, it was a thunderstorm ⛈️ coming our way. I had just settled down on my bed, and that nice sun we just had, vanished for a severe rainfall with good rolling and rumbling thunder. After that short but serious thunderstorm, the sun came back again. I let Koa out once more, as he'd been drinking quite a bit. We were out for a bit, and he even managed a wee. Knowing his bladder was relieved, and being rather tired, we got back to bed for some snoozing. It took me a little while before I dozed off. I was looking up, towards a higher area, where people were busy with some dig work. All of a sudden, a dog jumps down from the high spot, and she rushes by me. I follow her, and then she turns around, like she was aware of me in some way. She didn't seem to hear or see me, but somehow, she noticed she wasn't alone. I followed her some more, and when I tried to touch her, she was startled and jumped while turning around. All of a sudden, it was like she recognized me, and I her... It was my gall... She came to me, and gave me the biggest cuddle... And that's when I woke up because I was crying, and it also had startled Koa, so he was a bit restless too. I let Koa out of the crate, and we went outside. I was still crying, and then Koa gave me such a sweet cuddle and a few licks... Of course, this made me cry even more. It took me some time to calm down, and I needed some doom-scrolling to distract me from the dream. In the end, I got my eReader, and I was able to fall asleep with it. I think Koa felt a bit sorry for me, as he allowed me a longer sleep after that, before he woke me up an hour later than usual. Because, even with the long time being awake after the dream, according to my watch, I still managed about 7 hours of sleep in total. It was divided in a little over an hour, with the dream, and then the rest. I remember hearing something around 21:30, but as Koa was snoozing, and I was still so tired, I was hoping to get about an hour, maybe two, more. So when I heard Koa, and looked at the clock, I was rather surprised so see that it was almost 1am. I was glad for the sleep, but felt a bit sorry towards Koa, as he must be eager for a meal and a potty break. So, I quickly got up, and I did my best to care for the dude. Let's see how our day would go... :kirby_prideheart: Ello sweet and lovely Friendos :purple_heart_sparkle: #GoodMorning and #TZAG everyone :CoolGarfield: It's going to be a warm and sunny day, according to the weather witches 🧙🏼‍♀️. It's now a nice and cool 15°C, and in a little bit, I'll take Koa out for a longer walk (ow that reminds me to take my meds now!). Hopefully we can manage another nice 1km walk together, which would be good for the both of us. 😊 I've been sharing a few pictures on my two Pixelfed accounts. I'll boost some of them here in a bit, as I usually do. Today will be a long day, as we'll have the last puppy class. It should have been last week, but the teacher got stuck in traffic, so it's rescheduled. I'm not too enthusiastic, but since I paid for it... I'll just go and see if there's something interesting in this last class. I've not been able to practice a lot with Koa, due to the stupid back situation. 😔 I really hope we can pick it up soon again. I may ask my neighbor, if she's feeling up to it, to maybe try and help me practice the "come here" command. I wanna take Koa to the closed off doggy pen, and maybe we can practice together, by each calling him to us (not together, but in turns, of course). But the next two weeks will have some more hot days, so if she would be interested and able, we'd probably have to do it in the mornings. 😊 Another coach is coming to our place this morning, as Steph is on holiday. I hope it will go well, as I still struggle with new people, especially if they have to be in my home... Well, let's grab my headphones :ablobcatheadphones: and let Koa from the crate (he was trying to eat me, haha, so he got a little time-out before walkies). Hopefully the walk will go well... Catch you all later lovelies! :pixy_party: 🫂 🩵 💜 🩷 🐾 :dogeparrot: #PixysJourney #KoaKoolani

:kirby_prideheart: Ello sweet and lovely Friendos :purple_heart_sparkle: #GoodAfternoon and #TZAG everyone :parrot_sad: This has not been a good day... I woke up with a lot of pain. And while the pain became better to handle, with the help of some meds and movement, I kept feeling bad. I have all these plans and ideas. I have no motivation or energy. And then I bully myself over bout doing all these plans. And I feel even more useless... Koa's cuddles helped. Koa's love-bites due to his changing molars... Not so much, as he sometimes hurt me with his discomfort nibbles. I know he doesn't mean to hurt me, and I know I can't explain his struggles to him. So, I'll try to be there for him, and his nibbles. But, at times, I have pushed him away, because there is supporting your pup, and there's being hurt by your pup... 😔 I've written about these emotional and mental struggles for my blog, several posts have been scheduled to be shared soon. Something I also struggle with since the last bully calling my writing AI slop... I can handle some bullying, as I've been through it too often for too long... But, this nasty comment was made below a very heartfelt post where I discussed the passing of several dogs, including Arwen. If that bully had just taken the time to check the text, with all the mistakes made by me, then they'd know that only the featured image was AI, and not the text. It just hurt me so much that someone thought I was having AI write about dead pets to gain clicks. 😢 I know I'm putting too much pressure on myself. I know I want too much. Because I used to do more. I used to be better. I used to be....... Yeah... 😔 Well, gonna grab my Kobo, and start up MyNoise® with some rain and thunder sounds... Thanks to all for your kindness and support during my "journey through daily life" :bear_love: I really appreciate it :bear_hugs: as it helps me to keep going on bad/harder days! :bear_nuzzle: :pixy_party: 🫂 🩵 💜 🩷 🐾 :dogeparrot: #PixysJourney

#Journal of a Dutch AuDHD Pixy :pixy_party: (Saturday, 11/07/2026). I had a decent enough night with, according to my watch, about 7½ hours of sleep. It was broken up, of course, as Koa needed to go out several times. Ow, I cant wait for his bladder to hold it up a wee bit longer… We got up, I got dressed, I took my meds, prepped Koa’s meal, and we started our day. I wrote an email to my sweet friend. There was some good news, so that was very nice indeed. When I had finished the email, I got some brekkie. I struggled to write the journal toot, so when Koa wanted to go out, we went for a short walk. A bit of fresh air, and some movement, it did me good. But, I still struggled to write my journal toot somehow. I managed in the end, but I had a slight headache, and it was annoying me. I worked a bit on my blog, and then I put away the laptop. Koa and I tried to relax a little with some telly. Then, we went out on another short walkies. I had this bläh feeling, and I just didn’t understand why… I had gotten some decent sleep, the meds were helping me reasonably well, and some good things had been happening. But still, I struggled with my emotions and energy. I went upstairs to ride my bike for a little while. After that, Koa and I went out for a bit of a longer walk. I thought he’d enjoyed the one yesterday, and it’s good for the both of us, so hey ho! Koa was a bit difficult to handle on the leash, as he kept pulling this way and that, and he struggled with the sounds of the doggy boarding area, as there was a lot of barking to be heard. When we got back, I really needed to relax for a while. The bike ride, and the longer walk, they had drained me for a bit. So, Koa and I relaxed for a bit, he in his crate, and I on bed. I didn’t sleep, I watched Criminal Minds on my tablet, and scrolled a bit through the FediVerse. After some time, we got up again, and Koa signaled he wanted to head out again. So, we went for another little walk. We relaxed for a while, with some telly, some online scrolling, some short walkies. I still felt a bit bläh… One of my parcels arrived nice on time. The others were coming with a different carrier, DHL and, as usual, they were making a mess of things again. This, of course, didn’t help me with my headache and feelings of bläh. Around noon, Koa and I went for another nice walk. The weather was getting warmer, and we walked a wee bit differently, so Koa got some new sniffs in. When we got back home, we went to bed a bit earlier, not to sleep at first, but to relax. I had walked quite a bit, as I managed >8.5k in steps today. The last few days, Koa and I have been trying to get some more walks in, with the meds helping me with that. Last week, my steps average increased a little after starting the meds, and it went to about 5k average. When I now check the last 7 days, the average is at a little over 7k. So not too bad at all. Of course, it’s nothing compared to my “old” averages, but with a puppy, no gym, a bad back and all… It’s quite a challenge to even get to 5k steps… I had asked my online friendos on Masto, if some would be interested in chatting with me. I got some replies, and when I was relaxing on bed, I chatted for a while with a very kind lady in Australia. After a while, I fed Koa, and I let him out into the garden. When he had done his things, we got ready to head to bed. It took me some time to doze off. And when I finally did, a loud banging on the door woke me up again… Of course DHL had to mess up again. I had put into the app that they should deliver it with my neighbor (with her permission). So, they wanted to deliver it with me… And now I have to wait until they deliver it at the parcel vault next week… Ugh, it just drives me nuts at times… I dozed off again, until Koa woke me up for a potty break. After that, he allowed me a little over 4 hours of sleep, before waking me up again, letting me know he was done with being in the crate. So, we got up, and we started our “day”.

#Journal of a slightly enthusiastic, and slightly exhausted, Dutch AuDHD Pixy :pixy_party: (Thursday, 09/07/2026). After an OK enough night, with about 7 hours of sleep in total, Koa told me it was time to get up and to start our “day”. I got to the scale, which surprised me a little, in a nice way. I dressed, took my meds, fed the little nibbler, and then I got to the couch with my laptop. I wrote a long email to my sweet friend, followed by my journal toot. When the toot was uploaded to all the usual places, I put away the laptop, and fixed myself some brekkie. After brekkie, Koa and I went for a short walkies. When we got back, we crashed on the couch, and relaxed for a while. I worked a bit on a blog post, while I watched some Criminal Minds. After some telly time, it was getting light out, and Koa and I went for another walk. I made some food for Koa, before I headed upstairs for my little bike ride. Koa wasn’t too pleased with me being gone, but fortunately, he wasn't too vocal about it. When I got back downstairs, I fixed myself some food as well. Bestie called me on her way to physio, and we had a nice chat. I walked a bit with Koa, and then we relaxed again. I wanted to go to the store, to buy some envelopes and stamps. I could go with Skoosh, and be back in a jiffy. But, the weather was nice, my meds were working, and I felt eager to walk a bit, and see how that would go. I texted the neighbor, asking if she’d be interested in joining me and Koa for a walk to the store. It turned out, she was just getting ready to head to the supermarket, which is about 140m from the store I needed. So, we met up to walk together. After a little bit, she took over Koa’s leash, which helped my back a lot. And, I think she enjoyed it too. It had been two weeks since her furry loved one had passed the rainbow bridge, so it was hard for her. But, I saw her smile a bit from time to time, which made me feel a bit better. I had forgotten to turn on the GPS tracking on Koa’s collar, so we missed a bit of the activity. But… We managed to get to the stores, and then back again. I was dead, and Koa was rather tired too. Time and distance wise, it was the max for him, maybe a bit too much, because of all the new impressions. But, Koa had done a great job! And I think all three of us had enjoyed the little walk and company. When we got home, I gave Koa something to snack, and he went to the crate in the bedroom. I went to bed, not to sleep, but to relax. We had walked almost 2km, and it was a lot for my poor back and leg. And, while I was exhausted, I also felt good about it. We relaxed for about 90 minutes, and then Koa wanted to go out again. He had drunk a lot after coming home, so he had to wee. I was all for a short nip to the grassy field behind the house, and then back again. Koa wanted a bit more… Which was not appreciated by my leg and back. We got back, and we relaxed a bit. I got Koa’s old-skool photo album, and I started adding the pictures that had arrived the previous day. Koa started “playing” with my curtains, which I had closed due to both heat and light, and when he used his little teefs in them, I put him back into the crate. I finished adding all the pictures, now I need to add all the dates into an excel sheet, and hope that my dad will want to print them, so that I can cut them out, and add them to the pictures. When I was done, I gave Koa his meal. We went into the garden for a while, where he could do his things. After that, I took my meds, and we got ready to head to bed. It was a bit earlier, but I was just so tired… Of course, Koa was snoozing in no time, and it took me a bit longer to get comfortable enough to doze off. I woke up a few times for doggy breaks, I still hope that, sooner rather than later, Koa will be back to needing max 1 potty break a night. He was on one for a while, but then he fell back into needing two… The breeder says the bladder control should be getting better once they’ve finished the teething process. Koa has two wobble little teefs in the front, and he still needs to exchange the fangs and molars… So, I guess I will have to be patient a bit longer… (although, after more than 11 weeks, I do long for a few “good nights”…). We got up, and I used the scale. It was a bit higher, weight wise, but the fat percentage was a bit lower, so I guess it’s not that bad. I still hope to get my weight below the 80 kilos again, sooner than later would be nice, I want to be able to shed this obesity again… At the end of last year, I finally got close to it, but then, due to weather, family things, and me feeling like crap, it went up again. I really hope that I can start visiting the gym again soon, if both Koa and my body will allow it… I really miss it, in more than one way… Thanks to all for your kindness and support during my "journey through daily life" :bear_love: I really appreciate it :bear_hugs: as it helps me to keep going on bad/harder days! :bear_nuzzle: :pixy_party: 💜 🍀 🐾 #PixysJourney #WeirdFolks #ActuallyAuDHD #KoaKoolani

#GoodNight and #TZAG everyone :ablobcatpopcorn: I've just popped in the second Shaun the Sheep movie in the player 💿... Farmagaddon. And... I got the "need" to go upstairs... And... Grab my Ice Age collection... 😊 Unfortunately, I don't have them all on Blu-ray yet... Before the divorce, we had a 3D TV. After the divorce, my ex had one... 😔 Unfortunately, these TVs are not being made anymore, it seems... So I guess the special 3D-editions of the movies may not be enjoyed anymore... And the last movie, I got from my aunt, so that's a DVD too (as I would have gotten the Blu-ray, for the better quality...). Still, I *think* there may be an Ice Age movie 🎬 fest coming up soon, after the Shaun movies have been seen... #IceAge #PhysicalCollection #DVD #Collection #BluRay #ShareYourMovies

:kirby_prideheart: Ello sweet and lovely Friendos :purple_heart_sparkle: #GoodNight and #TZAG everyone :ablobcatpopcorn: Tonight is going a bit different than our usual nights... Koa was a bit restless, probably due to teething discomfort, and I could not focus on writing my journal Toot... I had a parcel to pick up at the DHL parcel 📦 vault thingie in town (yes this time they did deliver it there properly). So, I decided to get Koa on a little adventure, and we walked to the vault to retrieve the parcel (a little, cute, Shaun the Sheep plushie). The walk went well, but I was glad with my headlight, as some parts of the pavement were very dark, due to trees and bushes blocking the light of the street lamps... We just got back, and Koa is a bit more relaxed now (aka tired haha), although I do think his teefs, the molars at the moment, are still bothering him. I popped in the Shaun the Sheep movie 💿 in the player, and that's playing now, while I hope to finish my journal Toot in a bit... Hope that today will be a better day, as yesterday was a lot of no-good, unfortunately... 😔 Thanks to all for your kindness and support during my "journey through daily life" :bear_love: I really appreciate it :bear_hugs: as it helps me to keep going on bad/harder days! :bear_nuzzle: :pixy_party: 🫂 🩵 💜 🩷 🐾 :dogeparrot: #PixysJourney

#Journal of a grateful Dutch AuDHD Pixy :pixy_party: (Monday, 29/06/2026). I had a very bad night. Painkillers didn’t seem to help too much, and I was just so exhausted, but I could not get comfortable. Koa was affected by me as well, it seemed, as he struggled to get calm too. But then, he snoozed and all, and after some time, I was able to sleep some too. Koa woke me up a few times, and around 22:45, it was time to get up. I was still tired and sore, but as we’d gone to bed earlier than usual due to me feeling crap, I didn’t want to crate Koa even more. So, we got up, and we started our “day”. I made Koa’s meal, took my meds, and then I got to the couch. As usual, I wrote an email to a sweet friend, and I wrote my journal toot, which I shared in the usual places. As my back was not too happy with me, and I was still rather tired, I tried to relax a bit with some telly. Koa joined me on the couch, which was very sweet indeed. After brekkie, I wanted to play my game a bit more. I was settled in and all, and then Koa came to cuddle with me. He pressed his snout on my buttons, so that wasn’t helpful, haha. And as he lay across my legs, it hurt a bit due to my back. But, when Koa wasn’t using his teefs, the cuddling was actually quite nice, and very welcome. After some time, Koa released me again, and I was able to game some more. But as I was so tired, it was harder to maintain my focus on the game, so I turned it off, and watched some more telly. Bestie called on her way to work, and we had a nice chat. And then Koa claimed some attention, which required me to head to the kitchen, and rinse my thumb, and put a bandage on, while chatting to bestie… Koa had hit my thumb with one of the sharp teefs, and it bled quite nicely. And people wonder why I call him my little vampire, haha. After the call, I booted up the game again, and I managed to finish the first chapter. I shared some screengrabs on Masto, and then I turned off the PS5 again. I relaxed with some telly, until my ASS-ADHD coach came. She asked how it was going, and I immediately burst out all the health issues. Within 5 minutes, she was calling the GP. And, I don’t know how, she got me an appointment within an hour time! She walked with Koa for me, which I think both of them enjoyed. Then, she and I took Skoosh, and we headed to the GP. We were a tad early, and the GP was a tad late, so it was hard to wait in the waiting room without my headphones and music… The GP was very nice, she really listened, she examined, she discussed, and she diagnosed… I have a herniated disc, which is most likely pinching both nerves and a muscle. I got better meds, and she will call me on Thursday afternoon to discuss the meds. If needed, she will adjust them, so that I can at least be able to care for myself, and for Koa. We got back, and my coach had to leave, as she was running late, due to the GP running late. I thanked her, and went inside. Koa was glad to see me, which was very sweet of him. I tried to relax on the couch, and then the pharmacy called. I had a good talk, and they would deliver the meds between 15:00 and 17:30. I could not get comfy on the couch anymore, so after some time, we went to the bedroom to relax, while waiting for the meds to be delivered. I dozed off for a bit, as I was so tired. Then, Koa wanted to go out. So, we did. We got back to bed, and then the doorbell rang. I got my meds, and immediately took the first. Koa was awake and needed to check the house, before he could get settled again. He had heard the doorbell, and he didn’t know what had happened, so better check before snoozing again. We went back to bed, and after some time, both Koa and I dozed off. He woke me up again for another potty break. And we snoozed again. In the end, he woke me up around 23:25, and according to my watch, I had slept about 6½ hours. But, it didn’t count when I dozed off for about an hour earlier, so I guess I got some decent amount of sleep. Then, we got up, and we started our “day”. Thanks to all for your kindness and support during my "journey through daily life" :bear_love: I really appreciate it 💜 as it helps me to keep going on bad/harder days! :bear_nuzzle: :pixy_party: 💜 🍀 🐾 #PixysJourney #WeirdFolks #ActuallyAuDHD #KoaKoolani

:kirby_prideheart: Ello sweet and lovely Friendos :purple_heart_sparkle: At the start of the year, I started a #BooksIn2026 Toot list on my PlaystationPixy account: https://beige.party/@PlaystationPixy/115835310199111694 I didn't finish any books in June, but I finally managed to finish "The Pelican Brief" by John Grisham. So, my first book 📚 Toot from this account will be about book number 24 for 2026: The Pelican Brief - John Grisham Links 🔗 to pages with info about the book: https://jgrisham.com/the-pelican-brief/ https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/32499.The_Pelican_Brief https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pelican_Brief About the story; When two Supreme Court justices are shockingly assassinated on the same night, the country is thrown into complete chaos. While the FBI, the CIA, and the White House scrambled to figure out who could possibly be behind it, a brilliant 24-year-old Tulane law student named Darby Shaw decides to do a little digging of her own. Looking into the legal records of both justices, Darby connects a few obscure dots and writes up a speculative theory—a document that gets dubbed "the Pelican Brief". It lays out a high-stakes, multi-billion-dollar conspiracy involving corporate greed, environmental destruction, and political corruption at the highest levels of government. The problem? Her theory isn't just an interesting guess. It is dead right. Once the brief makes its way to Washington and lands on the wrong desks, everyone who has read it starts dying. Suddenly, Darby finds herself targeted by powerful, ruthless figures who will stop at nothing to bury the truth—and her along with it. About the characters: Darby Shaw: A sharp, resourceful Tulane law student. She isn't an action hero or a trained operative—she's a terrified, sleep-deprived student on the run, relying purely on her quick thinking and instincts to stay one step ahead of professional hitmen. Gray Grantham: An ambitious, tenacious investigative reporter for The Washington Post. When he receives tips about the assassinations, his path collides with Darby's. He becomes her primary ally, using his journalism network to help her uncover hard evidence while keeping her alive. Thomas Callahan: Darby's law professor (and lover), who recognizes the brilliance of her theory and passes the brief along to his contacts in D.C., unintentionally setting off the dangerous chain of events. How the story unfolds: The story plays out as a fast-paced cat-and-mouse game across the country. Darby goes into survival mode, changing her appearance and moving from one hideout to another as shadowy operatives close in on her. Realizing she can't trust the police or government agencies, she reaches out to Gray Grantham. Together, the law student and the journalist team up to gather rock-solid proof of the conspiracy. The narrative builds tension as they race against time to expose the truth in the national news before the assassins track them down. How the book was received: The Fans & General Readers For readers, the book was an absolute, run-away blockbuster. The Sales: Coming right off the massive success of The Firm, Grisham was already a household name, but The Pelican Brief cemented him as the king of the '90s legal thriller. Millions of copies sold almost immediately, topping best-seller lists for months. The Vibe: Readers loved the relentless, fast-paced "cat-and-mouse" energy. Darby Shaw quickly became a fan-favorite protagonist—people found her sharp, relatable, and easy to root for as a normal person caught in an extraordinary, terrifying situation. The Consensus: For mainstream audiences, it was the ultimate, unputdownable beach/airport read: high stakes, slick politics, and non-stop momentum. The Critics Literary critics were a bit more divided, viewing it as great commercial entertainment rather than high literature. What They Liked: Critics widely praised Grisham’s ability to build tension, construct an intricate plot, and keep readers hooked from page one. They appreciated how he brought the gritty, paranoid vibe of 1970s political thrillers (like All the President's Men) into the 1990s legal world. What They Critiqued: Some reviewers felt the plot relied on a few too many unbelievable coincidences or that certain villainous characters were a bit one-dimensional. Others noted that because Grisham wrote the book in just a few months, the prose was straight-to-the-point commercial fiction rather than deep, character-driven literature. The Bottom Line: While some critics poked at its blockbuster tropes, everyone agreed that Grisham had perfected the formula for a masterclass page-turner. The book's massive reception directly fueled the Hollywood bidding war that led to the smash-hit 1993 movie starring Julia Roberts and Denzel Washington. #Bookstagram #Bookstodon #JohnGrisham #ThePelicanBrief

:kirby_prideheart: Ello sweet and lovely Friendos :purple_heart_sparkle: #GoodMorning and #TZAG everyone :blobcatblep: #Today ... Is a very mixed day... I didn't have the worst sleep, so that's a plus. Although there was a buzzing terrorist 🦟 zooming around again... Ugh... Koa did rather wel during the night as well, which was very nice. 😊 The night itself was decent too. I wrote my sweet friend, I wrote my journal Toot, I checked my bird app (Finch), I re-watched more Criminal Minds... I had a nice walk with Koa. Until the morning walk... Which was 🤢! Koa got something in his mouth, and without thinking, my right hand went in to extract it... 🤮 And... It was some sort of fresh animal :parrotpoop: which made me gag so hard! I dragged Koa back home as fast as my bad back and leg could take me, trying not to vomit on the streets... While I was washing my hands like the skin had to come off all the way, Koa sat next to me, with such a smug :blobcatsmug: look on his face, like he was all proud of his wonderful achievement! Well... Yeah... I managed to go to the store this morning, and remember almost all that I needed to buy. Almost all... But I'm not going back... It took me my last spoons just to get there the first time... Today is also the second anniversary of Arwen's heavenly 🪽 birthday. I miss her so much... :blobcatSad: I really love Koa! (except when holding back vomit when my hand is full of shit!) But I also still love and miss my gall... I know I still have to do my exercise today, so I'll try to do that after some relaxing, and another walk with Koa after that. I really need to keep myself at it, as I will only benefit from it in the (near) future... Hope you're all having a wonderful day sweeties! Thanks to all for your kindness and support during my "journey through daily life" :bear_love: I really appreciate it :bear_hugs: as it helps me to keep going on bad/harder days! :bear_nuzzle: :pixy_party: 🫂 🩵 💜 🩷 🐾 :dogeparrot: #PixysJourney #KoaKoolani #RIPArwen Edit: made a stupid error, had to do better... 😇

:kirby_prideheart: Ello sweet and lovely Friendos :purple_heart_sparkle: #GoodMorning and #TZAG everyone :kirby_star2: I've managed to do the laundry. I have to start the dishwasher in a bit. Koa and I were able to "restart" the "old skool" SniffiVerse™ walkies, albeit a short round for now... It brought some emotions, as I remembered walking there with Arwen (and I felt guilty over thinking how much easier it was to walk it work Arwen, as she was just older and so chill... 😢 I felt bad for thinking it, as it doesn't feel fair to Koa). I tried to ride my bike this morning, but Koa kept barking every few minutes... So that didn't really work out, maybe I can try again a bit later today. In about half an hour, I'll take Skoosh to the supermarket, and quickly get what I need (and hope I don't forget things again 🫣). My body is struggling a bit. I've had issues with my bowels in the last 36 hours... 😢 I've had issues with my temperature... It was 14°C when Koa and I went out for a walk. I felt all sweaty in my light jacket, but I also felt so cold at the same time. And I've been feeling nauseated from time to time 😔. Tomorrow and Monday have some things planned with friends. It will be hard work with them, but I hope I'll manage to pull my weight, and to do all I can to help with the hard work... Gonna watch some more Criminal Minds, and then get ready for the shopping... I think that, after I get back, Koa and I may go to "bed" for a while, so my back/body can relax (or so I hope). Hope you'll have a fabulous Saturday folks! :gaysparkles: :pixy_party: 🫂 🩵 💜 🩷 🐾 :dogeparrot: #PixysJourney

#GoodMorning and #TZAG everyone :flying_hearts: It's been a busy night/morning. I've had some good walks with Koa. I'm exhausted from them, but I think he enjoyed them a lot! 😁 I started a Toot that gained a lot more attention than I am used to getting...and... Wow!!! :BlahajWearingSunglasses: Thanks to everyone for replying, adding more hashtags to the 📸 list... It's made me nuts at times, 😂 all those edits! But the list is getting better and better! :blobcatcamera: But... All the busy stuff, the walks, still dealing with my herniated disc, still dealing with broken up sleep (looking at you there, Koa!)... I'm done for now! Please, keep replying to the photo link Toot if you know more "topic-day" related photography tags! And I'll do my best to add them when I can. Fankoos to all for making this a great morning! I'm exhausted :kirby_tired: haha! Catch you all later lovelies! :pixy_party: 🫂 🩵 💜 🩷 🐾 :dogeparrot: #PixysJourney #KoaKoolani

I had an autistic meltdown, of which I'm a tad ashamed... 😔 But nothing too bad happened... Still, it's a bit of a longer Toot, and it has the meltdown in it, so I added the CW. 😊
#Journal of an ashamed Dutch AuDHD Pixy :pixy_party: (Saturday, 18/07/2026). We didn’t have the worst night, but I didn’t feel all rested and good when we got up. Still, Koa told me it was time, so we started our “day”. I got to the scale, which was less bad than I thought it would be, and I dressed. I took my meds, which were very much welcome, and then I fixed Koa’s meal. When Koa had a full belly, we got to the couch, where I grabbed my laptop, and I started an email to my sweet friend. I finished the email to my friend, and I had some brekkie. I started on my journal toot, and then I took Koa out for a short walk. It was cooler again outside, which was very nice indeed. We got back to the couch, where I finished my journal post, and I shared it to all the usual places. I put the laptop away, and tried to relax for a while. I felt a bit uneasy, like something was bothering me, and I didn’t know what. Koa started to behave a bit like an asshat, trying to steal all sorts of things, and it was bugging me a lot. When he finally settled down again, I went upstairs to ride the bike for a while. Which went well enough. I got back down, and took Koa for a longer walk. I noticed I was a bit more annoyed with him when he was not following properly, or trying to put everything in his mouth, you know, puppy behavior. And I just could not understand why it triggered me so much this time. I just thought it was because my back was still troubling me, and I felt tired as well. We got back, and then I fixed some food for Koa. After that, I needed to relax for a bit. But… Koa was doing all sorts of things, and it triggered me so much, that I snapped. I felt that I was getting too angry, and I managed to pick up Koa and put him in the crate. But there was some yelling, I did smash a door, and I cried so much… I was just so overwhelmed, and I needed to take myself out of the situation, but I couldn’t as there was no one to “take over from me”, so I needed to fix things first… I felt so much anger, so much fear, and I knew I had to find a way to calm down again. I am glad, in a way, that I recognize autistic meltdowns better now, and I kinda know how to deal with them. But… Once I am calmer, I feel such a pain and shame… I know that Koa wasn’t harmed, but I know I must have scared him, and I hated myself so much for that. I even tear up again while I am writing this. When I was calm again, when I had been able to breathe in and out, and reflect on the meltdown, I took Koa from the crate. He jumped into my arms, and he started to lick away all the tears that were falling… I felt so bad, so guilty, so horrible… And here he was. Just shy of 5 months, comforting me, not blaming me for anything… So I cuddled him as best as I could, while his fur was slowly getting wet and all. I was so grateful as I felt like he was forgiving me, maybe even apologizing for doing the things that made me so overwhelmed to begin with. I started to feel a bit better again, and I took Koa out for a little walk. We got back, we relaxed, and then we got ready to drive to Oss, where I had to pick up my parcel. We arrived there well enough, but it was such a mess, that I had no idea what to do. I took Koa, and we walked to one of the men loading a van, and I just asked. My heart was going crazy, guess I still had not calmed down all the way from this morning’s bad episode. But, the man pointed me in the right direction with a smile. A little while further, 5 men were having some fun together, and all together, they pointed me into the same direction, all smiling, but also aware of the little bouncy dog that was with me. I managed to get my parcel, and Koa and I headed home again. I unpacked the package, and took out the inlays. I cut them to the right size for my new shoes, and I saw that my old inlays were as dead as my old shoes. I put in the new ones, and then I fixed some food. A parcel with some snacks for Koa was being delivered, just before my food was done. I enjoyed my meal, unpacked Koa’s snacks, and saw they sent me something I didn’t order. It was something I could use, so yeah, I will just keep it. But I will need to find a place to order the things I do need now… So that’s some extra costs again, while the funds are not that high… Koa and I relaxed for a while, and we went out for one more walk. Then, we headed to bed. I wanted to relax for a while, but I noticed I was so tired, that I dozed off before I knew it. I didn’t even get to finish my book, a Grisham one, that seems to take me forever to finish. Somehow, I have been trying to finish it for almost 2 months now. I wonder if I am slower with reading, if it’s a bigger book (and the digital pages are misleading, as they sometimes can be), or if I am just less interested in reading the last few weeks… But yeah, I dozed off and slept for a while. I woke up for the loo, and Koa and I went outside. But, Koa wasn’t interested in doing anything, so after some minutes, we went back to bed. Koa woke me up for a potty break, and then, we got back to bed. He made some noises, but I begged him for some more sleep. And, somehow, he allowed me just that. When I woke up again, I was startled when I saw the clock. I checked my watch, and according to it, I had slept about 9¾ hours in total! Koa was very excited to hear me getting up, and I felt sore from the long lie in, but I also felt a bit more relaxed from the longer sleep. So, Koa and I got up, and we started our “day”.

#Journal of a Dutch AuDHD Pixy :pixy_party: (Sunday, 02/08/2026). I had a bit of a mixed night. My back wasn’t too pleased, the short working meds kept bugging out, making it very painful to try and get up from bed. There was a dog that needed a potty break at times. There was a buzzing terrorist that woke me up once too… Ah well, I guess it’s just how things are these days… How they have been for a while now. And while I still hope that things will get better soon, I feel like I have been waiting for that soon to come for quite some time now. But, when I woke up again, my back was bad, Koa wanted out of the crate, so I just got up and started my “day”. I got to the scale, which was less bad than I had thought it would be. It’s not good, nope, but it was less bad than I thought… I got dressed, took my meds, fixed Koa’s meal. When Koa finished, we got to the couch. I grabbed my laptop, and I wrote an email to my sweet friend. When I sent it, I fixed some brekkie. I took Koa out for a short walk, and then I started writing my journal toot. I wrote it on my phone, and when I was done, uploaded it to some of the usual bits. I watched telly while I edited some of the screengrabs that I had taken from Saturday’s video. I tried to relax for a bit, took Koa on several short walks, and I spent some time reading my book. I felt tired, and I also felt like I should do something today, achieve something today. Even if it would not make me feel as good as it normally would, it would still mean that something got done. And later on, maybe I could feel good about it then. But, what could I do that would make me feel better? In the end, I went to shower. Unfortunately, Koa was barking a few times while I was in it. It really worries me that he barks so quickly and easily. I want to start at the gym soon again, and I’m afraid that he will bark way too much while I am away. And since I visit the gym during the night… Ugh… After the shower, I was tired and I wanted to relax a bit. Unfortunately, Koa kept bugging me, and we had to go out again. So, we went for a short walk, and then I really needed to relax. I tried to read some more, and I fixed some food for both Koa and myself. I managed to relax for a while, and then Koa and I went to the garden, where I cleaned the grass again. Sorry, no video this time… Koa and I went for another short walk. And then, I got the crazy idea to try out the treadmill. In the end, I managed to walk for half an hour at 4 km/h. Not that fast, but considering all that’s happened lately, it wasn’t too bad at all. I started watching the new Devil Wears Prada movie, which I finished after the walk on the mill. After some relaxing, I took Koa for another short walk. We spent some time on the couch with some telly. Koa wanted to go into the garden, but if I leave him in there alone, I won’t have any grass left haha. I got the silly idea to get some of the left-over grass, and I took it to the front garden. With some efforts, I managed to get a bit of it cut, and pinned on the black root fabric. It wasn’t great, but it was a lot better than before. But my hands, they hated me, and the last part would have to wait a bit longer. As the weather wasn’t too bad, I got my garden chair out, and I read for a while, while Koa could have fun in the garden. When my back got too sore, and I got too hot in the sun, I put away the chair, and I got ready to head to bed. I watched a series on my tablet for a while, and when my meds started to help, I grabbed my Kobo, and fell asleep while reading. I woke up for the loo, and to let Koa out. And then I snoozed again, until my back hurt too much, when the meds wore out. I took new meds, and got back to bed. I woke up again when Koa told me it was time to get out of the crate, and to do a wee in the garden. So, we got up and we started our “day”.

:kirby_prideheart: Ello sweet and lovely Friendos :purple_heart_sparkle: #GoodNight and #TZAG everyone :kirby_tired: Even though I had about 7 hours of sleep in total, with two interruptions for Koa's potty breaks, I still feel exhausted. I am struggling to enjoy the things that I usually enjoy. It sometimes feels like it's just too hard... 😔 I've been sharing some of my music collection on Pixelfed. I boosted some posts through this account. I just needed some positive distraction... I tried to group all sorts of music posts into a collection on Pixelfed: 🔗 https://pixelfed.social/c/821902671576567911 On October 29th last year, I also shared some of my vinyl collection on my blog... I tried to add some more info and background to the post. So, should you want to check it out, here is the link: 🔗 https://wp.me/pbx9Bc-4KX And I spent some money I should not have spent... But last time I didn't order it when I saw it, I lost the chance to order it later, as it was sold out (and being re-sold for 4-6x the original price..!). I hope that I still will have a wee bit of money left... I do want to save for a new sound system, as my current one is old and dead. 😢 But I also want to grab some vinyls to my sweet little collection, so I have some music to enjoy, once I *finally* manage to get the funds for that little sound system that I found. (it's about €1000, which sounds expensive, and it is, but when compared to others, it feels like it's one of the cheaper ones... 🫣). Ah well... This makes me long sometimes, back to the times where I thought I was happy (and I guess I was though, to some extent) in my poly relationship... When we had shared costs, and three decent incomes... We had all we needed, all we wanted, and didn't need to worry too much... There were cons to a poly relationship, sure... But, the financial situation we had, it was a nice pro for me for sure... 😊 I will do my best to make some good calculations, as I want to get a special vinyl by a dear fiend as well... I still have their store page open on my tablet. And, hopefully, in a few weeks, I may be able to order their album... I really want to support them, and it would be awesome to add to my little collection... 😇 Well... Let's see if I can write a bit for my blog site... I need to get some "stuff" out of my mind, as it's making my brain go nuts... And yes, I did take my ADHD meds... I am "just" struggling with too many things at the moment, and I'm trying to "let it all out" by trying to write about it, here and on my blog. Thanks to all for your kindness and support during my "journey through daily life" :bear_love: I really appreciate it :bear_hugs: as it helps me to keep going on bad/harder days! :bear_nuzzle::pixy_party: 🫂 🩵 💜 🩷 🐾 :dogeparrot: #PixysJourney#KoaKoolani#ShareYourMusic

Nothing bad at all! 😁 Just a >5k character journal Toot, so this could save some folks from scrolling too long... 😇
#Journal of a slightly better Dutch AuDHD Pixy :pixy_party: (Thursday, 23/07/2026). I didn’t have the worst night, but I did wake up with my back not being too happy with me… Ah well, Koa was all good with getting up and starting our “day” as well, so that was good. We started with the usual things, and when Koa had a full belly, we went to the couch, where I started my email to my sweet friend. When I was done, I got my brekkie, and I started writing my journal toot. But, Koa was a bit restless, probably due to his molars changing still giving him discomfort/pain, so, I decided that Koa and I would walk to the DHL parcel vault, to pick up the Shaun plushie. The walk went well, and I was glad that I brought my head lamp with me, as parts of the pavements weren’t too visible, due to trees and hedges blocking the light from the streetlamps. And, as not all the pavements are smooth, I used the little lamp to see where I was going. I tracked the walk with Koa’s collar, and according to it, when we got back, we had walked 1,9km. About 1,18 miles, according to my app. So, I was hoping that Koa would settle down, and I could finish the journal toot in peace. But, I still took a little while before Koa relaxed, and I could write my bit. While I was writing, I was watching the new Blu-ray movie that I had gotten, the Shaun the Sheep movie. It was really fun to have it play while I was writing. And although I knew I would love it, I enjoyed it even more than I had thought at first… I finished the journal bit, uploaded it to all the usual places, and then I worked a bit on a blog post, before I put away the laptop. When the movie was finished, Koa and I went out for another walk. I felt OK enough to go upstairs, when we got back, and I managed to ride my bike for 15 minutes. When I got back down, I tried to relax a bit. I thought about feeding my little monster, but I don’t think I actually did it. So, when I got up after watching some telly, I could not remember feeding Koa… And he wasn’t too pleased with me, so I figured that my foggy brain had forgotten to feed Koa… Whoops! I quickly got to work, and was met with a very pleased doggo. I am sure that he would have been just as pleased to receive a second meal, but it really didn’t feel like that… After Koa was done with his meal, we went out for a short walk, and then I tried to relax a while, as I wanted to go to the supermarket when it opened. Which I did do, and then, when I came back, I realized I had forgotten the bananas I had promised Koa. Damn, stupid foggy brain. I texted the neighbor, asking that, if she’d be up for a walk to the supermarket, if Koa and I could join her, to get those bananas I promised him… She wasn’t sure if she was going, so I was just going to go to the supermarket on Friday, and try to get them then… I went upstairs for another bike ride, and Koa allowed me to ride for 30 minutes. It felt good, but I was also tired when I was done. I got back down, walked another short round with Koa, and then, we had some water-hose fun in the garden, as I had to rinse off his little grassy patch. Koa had the bestest of fun, and I tried to capture it all on video. After that, Koa and I went to relax for a little while. I didn’t hear from the neighbor, and I was rather tired, and my back started to annoy me more so… We went to bed. To relax at first, and to sleep later. I was watching Criminal Minds, when I saw a text from the neighbor come in, that she was at the gate. I got out of bed, in my sexy shortamas, and I took Koa with me. I opened the gate, and I hoped that all would go well, as it was the first time that Koa was loose like that. And… I have to admit, I was a bit scared (and Nicole told me she was a bit anxious as well...). Koa and I went outside, but I didn't have the time to get Koa on the leash, so, he went to Nicole with only his GPS collar on (yay for that, otherwise I would not have dared it at all). He was so excited to see Nicole, and then he realized that he was not on his leash. We saw him in doubt a bit, as he wanted to explore, but it was also a bit scary. He went to the grassy area, and did a big number two (so it was good that he was out I guess). Nicole watched him, when I was getting a baggy, as I did want to clean it up. When I got back, Koa had realized that Nicole's gate was open, so he'd gone to her place, as he still wonders why Bundy isn't there anymore (we had the same when Arwen passed away, Bundy came into the house a few times as well, to look for her... 😢). Koa then saw Dennis, Nicole’s youngest son that lives with her, and he got even wilder, as he wanted all the cuddles. In the end, I was very relieved when I closed the gate behind us, with Koa being safe in the garden again. But, the magic word "snackje" (little snack), and the crunching with the bag of little snacks (and of course offering one when he came to us), it worked! He came to me, he came to Nicole, and he stayed close enough for us to see him. But yeah, I was glad that he had the GPS collar on, because, should something have happened, then at least we would have been able to easily find him again... But, in the end, it was a good exercise for both Koa and me. And I was glad that Nicole was there too, should something have happened, as I was in my sexy sleepy outfit haha! After that, Koa and I got back to bed. And, it didn’t take too long before I dozed off. Unfortunately, I didn’t have my long-lasting meds anymore, so after a few hours, my back wasn't too pleased with me, and I had to take another painkiller, to be able to sleep some more. But, my stomach and all wasn’t too pleased with me either, so when I woke up again with some heartburn, and a very annoyed bowel system, well… I decided it was best to just get up, and start our “day” earlier than usual… And, let’s just see how things would go… Thanks to all for your kindness and support during my "journey through daily life" :bear_love: I really appreciate it :bear_hugs: as it helps me to keep going on bad/harder days! :bear_nuzzle: :pixy_party: 💜 🍀 🐾 #PixysJourney #WeirdFolks #ActuallyAuDHD #KoaKoolani PS. Sorry no Koa snapshot this time... I still have to try and get some screengrabs from today's video. I did play with some editing, and made a silly edited video of Koa's water hose fun on the 18th and 23rd. Don't expect anything awesome from me 😂 but Koa did his best to be awesome. Video can be seen here: https://makertube.net/w/qD37KTaS6chEGPUQ6twPp4

#Journal of a happy Dutch AuDHD Pixy :pixy_party: (Monday, 04/05/2026).

We didn’t have the longest night, but I got about 7 hours of sleep, so I guess it’s not too bad. Koa and I started our day in the “usual” way. Koa got his meal, and then I had to crate him for a bit, as he was getting too mischievous. I got my laptop, and I wrote my journal toot. After that, Koa and I went out for a little walk. And then I wrote an email to a sweet friend.

I went out to the garden with the little dude, and I offered him his ball, so we could play for a bit. He really enjoys the play time, and he seems to like it when I act a bit crazy trying to “capture” the ball from him. We had a bit of game time, and then we headed back inside. I had to crate Koa again, as he kept going under the couch, and he kept nibbling on it again, and again. When he was in his crate, I got my brekkie.

We tried to relax a bit. I read my book for a while, and I had shared my latest book-toot, as I had finished another book last night, The Testament by John Grisham. As we’d gotten up earlier, I fixed Koa’s lunch a little earlier. Then, around 11, mum texted me that she was coming our way. So, I got everything ready, and we went to the grassy field behind the house. My bag and cooler were in the trunk, and we walked around the field. Koa left me a big prezzie, so I had to get back to the garden again, to throw away the baggie.

When mum came, she switched to the back of Skoosh, Koa joined her, and we headed back to Nijmegen. We were there in time, and Koa and Bas had their second meeting. After some insecurities from Bas, he learned that he could actually play with Koa. And, while Bas sometimes pretended that Koa was killing him 😂, I think they had a good time playing together.

After our hair was cut, mum and dad would watch Koa for a bit, and I could go to the store for a few things. Of course, dad made sure to do something that he should not do (let Koa out of a crate while he was whining), but… He was “rewarded” for that with a wee in the living room… I wasn’t home when it happened, so yeah… When I got back, mum and I took Koa to Skoosh, and we headed back to Herpen.

Koa was dead-tired, and tried to sleep all the way home. I then put him in his crate, to sleep some more, and so that mum and I could work a bit on the garden. We put some big root fabric on the empty spot next to the shed, so that Koa could not dig around anymore for roots and stones. Mum went home when we were done, and Koa and I relaxed for a little while.

I fixed him his food, and he slept some more. When he woke up again, it was a little earlier than our usual bedtime. But, as we were both tired enough, we went out for walkies, and then I prepared everything for bedtime. It took a little while for Koa to doze off. I read a little while, and when I finally dozed off, Koa woke me up for a wee.

After that, it took 5 hours for the next potty break! When I saw the time when Koa woke me up, I was rather amazed at it. It was raining a bit, and Koa did his thing. After some whining, he got back asleep again. After 90 minutes, he woke up, and needed another wee. Again, 90 minutes later, he woke me up again. But, he had to do a big number 2, so I was glad that he had woken me up. He wanted to stay up, but it was too early for me, and I still felt so tired. So, I asked him for another 90 minutes. He fell asleep again. When he woke me up again, it was 6am already! We had a long night together. According to my watch, I got about 10 hours of sleep in.

So, we got up, and we started our day. The scale wasn't too bad. And it was dry again, which was nice as well.

Thanks to all for your kindness and support during my "journey through daily life" :bear_love: I really appreciate it 💜 as it helps me to keep going on bad/harder days! :bear_nuzzle:

:kirby_prideheart: Ello sweet and lovely Friendos :purple_heart_sparkle: Well, I managed to have a little simple play time with Koa. My back didn't like it too much, but I tried not to care, as I saw how much Koa enjoyed it. And... He deserved it! ❤️ Depending if I get better meds, I want to go to Nijmegen tomorrow, to pick up some groceries that mum got for me. If mum has the time, and if I (hopefully) will feel a bit better... I hope to take Koa, together with mum and Sir Barks-A-Lot™ to the woods, where they have a water area whwre dogs are allowed. It would be Koa's first time getting to the waterside 💦. I wanted to do it sooner, but weather and back... 😔 So... Not only fingers 🤞🏻 are crossed, but also my toes, heck even my eyes if it would help, that GP can get me meds, which I can pick up from the meds vault tonight... She said to call between 14:30-15:30. And yeah, I still hate calls... But this one is very important, so I am already waiting for it... :bb: But, I was glad to have a wee bit of play time with my dude! There were tears... 🥲 Some from pain, and some from happiness... I still miss Arwen so much, but Koa brings a lot of love back into my little life... :flying_hearts: Thanks to all for your kindness and support during my "journey through daily life" :bear_love: I really appreciate it :bear_hugs: as it helps me to keep going on bad/harder days! :bear_nuzzle: :pixy_party: 🫂 🩵 💜 🩷 🐾 :dogeparrot: #PixysJourney #KoaKoolani

:kirby_prideheart: Ello sweet and lovely Friendos :purple_heart_sparkle: I saw a Toot from my PeerTube instance about the rising costs, and while my money is very tight this month, thanks to things breaking and needing replacement all at the same time (and disability pay isn't the highest, but I am grateful for it!), I managed to make two small donations. One to my PeerTube instance, and one to Beige (Mastodon). I know my donations won't keep the stuff up and running. But! I know that, if more users would make a small donation as well, that we can make a difference! 💪🏻 We can support the hard work of the admins and mods, we can help carry the costs, to keep our social media free from the data scraping bits, and free from ads between every three toots... I really wish I could donate a bit more, and I am looking for a way to be able to set up something with monthly payments... But some financial things are changing a bit, and I need to sort them out first... Still, when I can, I will try to donate a coffee :kofi: to the people making social media fun and good! Fankoos for the hard work @theropologist@beige.party & @MakerTube@mastodon.social I really appreciate you giving me a place to share my bits 😉 Remember, when you're able, to tip your instance, so it can cover the costs to give you/us a home online! :bb: :pixy_party: 🫂 🩵 💜 🩷 🐾 :dogeparrot: #PixysJourney

#Journal of a hot & cold Dutch AuDHD Pixy :pixy_party: (Sunday, 26/07/2026). I didn’t have a too bad night. Koa seems to be getting better at sleeping longer periods of time, which is a nice thing to happen… But, I did struggle with my body, both my back and my belly, unfortunately. So when I got up, I had to deal with that first, before I could get to the scale, dress, deal with my meds, and fix Koa’s food. When Koa finished his meal, we went to the couch, where I got my laptop, and started my email to my sweet friend. When I was finished, I got some brekkie, and I started my journal toot. After brekkie was done, Koa wanted to head out for walkies, so we went for the SniffiVerse™ round. We walked a little different this time, adding a wee bit more distance. Koa did excellent, and when we got back, I hoped that he was tired enough, so I could finish my journal toot. It took a little longer than I thought, for Koa to settle down. I popped in the 5th Ice Age Movie, and then I was able to finish the toot. I uploaded it to all the usual places, and then I put the laptop away. I used my phone to work on a blog post for a bit. When the movie ended, I took them upstairs, and brought a few Muppet movies downstairs with me. I popped one in the player, and watched it while I tried to relax. When the movie had ended, Koa and I went out on another little walk. When we got back, I fixed some food for Koa, and then I went upstairs to ride my bike for a little while. This time, Koa allowed it, so I managed to get half an hour in. Back downstairs, I had some food, and Koa and I tried to relax for a little bit. I felt a bit like crap, as my temperature fluctuated again and again, and my tummy wasn’t playing too nicely either. I fixed myself some food, but before I could finish it, I got so nauseated… Well, we all know what happens then… I felt even worse after that, and I decided to go to bed for a while. Not so sleep, but to calm down, and try to get my body relaxed again. I was really not feeling too well, and I was afraid that I’d not be in any state to help my friend with my mess when she’d come. I texted her and told her I was worried that I may not be in any state to help, but that I would try if she’d still be willing to come. And, she came… She made a start on the cupboard, and told me to sit back, and make sure that Koa would not be in the way too much. Which I tried. We had a little break, and walked with Koa, and then she finished it all for me. It looked so easy, and I wish I could have done it on my own, but yeah… Nope… We chatted for a while, and then she offered to take out some of the weeds that had been bugging me. And, she went so fast, making it look so easy again. And, while I was super grateful for all the help, I also struggled a bit, because I felt so “stupid” for not being able to do these “simple” things myself. So yeah… It was a bit of a double set of emotions. My friend offered to walk with Koa, and then she headed back home again. I was so tired, that, after Koa had his meal, we went to bed. I wanted to watch some Criminal Minds and try to relax my sore body. But, within a few minutes, I was already snoozing. When I woke up again, I startled myself, as I had not thought I was that bad… But, I got to the loo, put away my tablet, and I went back to sleep. Koa is doing so much better these days, being able to sleep longer with less potty breaks. When I woke up again, it was still a bit early. Another hour, maybe two even, would have been very welcome. But, my body was sore, my tummy was upset too, and Koa wanted to go out now. So, we got up, and we started our “day” a little earlier than planned.

#Journal of a happy Dutch AuDHD Pixy :pixy_party: (Tuesday, 12/05/2026).

Koa and I had an OK night. I had some trouble falling asleep, but then, I did doze off. We went out twice during the night, and when Koa woke me up again, he did so by retching a bit. Apparently, I had missed him eating something he should not have, and his stomach wanted it gone. All that came out, except for some bile, was a small twig of some sort… I try to take out all the things he puts in his mouth, but sometimes, he’s too fast, and I can’t reach him in time before it’s already gone… Ah well, we went out, I cleaned up, and then we could start our day.

The scale was OK enough, which was nice to see. I prepped Koa’s food, and then, after taking my meds, I got my laptop, and started working on an email to a sweet friend. Koa spent some time snoozing on the couch, and when he started to eat my pants, I put him in the crate for a little while. I finished my email, I uploaded the video I’d taken of Koa and Bas the previous day, and I worked on my journal toot. When I was done with that, it was getting light out, so Koa and I went for a short little walk.

When we got back, I wrote a bit for my blog while I had brekkie. And then my bestie called me on the way to work, so we had a nice little chat. After that, Koa wanted out again, so of course we went. When he got all the sniffs, and I got to bend loads of times to take stuff from his mouth, we got back again. Koa actually managed to sleep on the couch for a while, and… He even gave me some sweet cuddles… I was delighted!

As Nicole was coming over soon to puppy-sit Koa for me, Koa had his meal. After about 15 minutes, we had a nice little walk, so he could do his business. Then, Nicole came, and we got everything set up for her and Koa. I got my bags, and I headed to Cuijk.

I just walked in at the physio, and the lady before me had not showed up yet. So, big Bas took me in for my treatment first, and should the lady still come, then she could have my spot. I heard her come in as I was just preparing my things, but she was OK with chatting with some coffee for a while, so I could still go first. The treatment was rather nice. After that, I quickly headed to Lidl, where I got some groceries, and then I texted Nicole that I was done a little earlier, and I’d be on my way home again.

Nicole and Koa were playing outside, and it looked like they both had a great time. I thanked Nicole, and she went home again. I fixed some food, and Koa was snoozing away. He didn’t even want walkies, he wanted a quick wee outside, and then to snooze some more. I guess Nicole had worn him out a little, haha.

We relaxed for a while, and I browsed the Amazon store. I saw that the photo album had lowered the price again to a more decent one, so I ordered it when I could. I had also noticed that Arwen’s old feeding station was damaged with rust, so I looked up new feeding stations and I found one that I really liked, and that had good reviews (and that was affordable for me). So, I ordered that one as well… Then, I fixed Koa’s dinner, and we went for walkies about 30 minutes after that.

When we got back, Koa was ready for bed, or so it seemed. So, I prepped everything, and we got to bed. It didn’t take too long for Koa to doze off. I spent some time reading, before I finally was able to doze off as well. After several hours, I woke up because I needed the loo. Which woke up Koa, so we went out together as well. It was raining a bit, so I quickly got the umbrella, and waited for Koa to do his things. Without issue, he went back to the crate, enjoyed the little kibbles, and got back to sleep. Not even any protesting… I was so proud of him! When he woke me up again, it was still a bit too early to get up, and I was still a bit tired. So, after Koa had done his business, we went to sleep a little more. Around 3am, I woke up, and Koa and I started our day together.

Thanks to all for your kindness and support during my "journey through daily life" :bear_love: I really appreciate it 💜 as it helps me to keep going on bad/harder days! :bear_nuzzle:

I can hear the thunder in the distance for a while now. And sometimes there are some flashes to be seen as well. The upstairs windows are cracked open a bit, but not as far as rain could come in. The downstairs windows are open too, and the kitchen door. But when the threatening rain comes closer, I'll quickly close the door. Don't want to be caught in this thunderstorm ⛈️. It's slowly getting cooler now, which is very welcome. About half an hour to go, and then the weather should get bad here... Hopefully Koa can do a number one, and maybe a number two, before the rain, thunder, and lightning arrive here... #WeatherToot

#Journal of a hot 🥵 Dutch AuDHD Pixy :pixy_party: (Friday, 26/06/2026). Koa had a bit of a restless night, where he woke up twice for potty breaks. Which also meant that I had a broken night, and not a lot of quality sleep. At least the heat didn’t bother me too much, and I was able to get some sleep. We got up, and started our routine. I got to the scale, which is still painful to do due to my back and leg. I fixed Koa’s meal, and while he munched away, I took my meds. I got to the couch with my laptop, and started writing an email to a sweet friend. It was still too hot to open up the windows, so I kept an eye out on the weather station, so I could crack those windows open as soon as it was cool enough. Koa was rather calm this start of the night, so that was nice as well, as that meant I didn’t have to crate him to keep him safe. When I finished the email, and had just started on the journal toot, Koa started to nibble on the couch again. I don’t want him to get any of these splinters in his mouth, or worse, that he’ll swallow them (he already did that once, and when I cleaned up his number two, the splinter scared the bejeezus out of me… Since then, I am keeping him away from the wood under the couch as much as I can). He stopped for a while, and I could finish my journal toot. When it was updated to all the usual places, I took Koa out for a little walk. We relaxed for a while, and when the temps were lowering enough, I headed upstairs, opened up the windows there, It was nearly 26°C there, so not that bad actually, seeing the weather we’d been having. But still, warm enough to sweat. I got back down, and slowly started to open up the windows and kitchen door here too. We relaxed some more, and when it was getting light out, Koa and I went for a nice, and a bit cooler, walk. There was a slight breeze, which was very welcome as well. When we got back, I fixed Koa’s meal. After a wee bit of relaxing, I thought it would be nice for Koa to have some water fun. I rinsed off the artificial grass, and then I tried to fill up the blue shell a bit. I could not film this, but Koa had a blast playing with all the water. I got him the water toy that Yolande had given him on her first visit, and he had a nice playtime, before it got too hot. I was able to film some of this, so that was nice for sure. When it was getting warmer again, I dried off the worst of Koa, but not all, and we went inside. I closed up all the bits, as the sun was already working hard on getting the temps up again. When it was getting closer to 8am, I got to Skoosh, and we headed to the supermarket for a few groceries. I quickly got what I needed, and we headed back home again. Koa was relaxing in his crate, so that was a good thing for sure. I unpacked the groceries, had a little walk with Koa, and then had a small bite to eat. We relaxed for a while, and Koa got a lickimat with some frozen yogurt, which he seemed to enjoy. He relaxed a bit, and then also enjoyed his snuffle mat. After that, I packed the bag, got an extra one with some water and drinks, and I made sure that my umbrella was in Skoosh as well, just in case. Koa and I got to Skoosh, and we headed to Cuijk. It was warm, but Skoosh worked hard, and she managed to keep the inside cool enough for us to not melt away. I had set it to 22°C, as it was above the 30 degrees already. Koa wanted it even cooler, but I didn’t want it to be too cold. When we were nearly there, I slowly upped the temps a bit, so we would not be hit by the heat as soon as we’d get out. The physio practice had aircon on as well, so Koa and I could wait quite comfortable. Koa wanted to get out a few times, but he never did a wee. There was no grassy area nearby, so I guess that’s what stopped him from not doing a wee… Physio went well, and the massage was more than welcome. Koa didn’t get into too much mischief, although big Bas did startle every time the little hairball let out a bark… After the massage, Koa and I got back to Skoosh. I “fired up” the aircon, slowly setting it colder as we went along. And all went well. When we got back home, Koa did a mighty big wee on the grassy field behind the house. Then we went inside, where it was nice and cool. Koa got his meal, I got a snack, and we both relaxed. It was getting so hot outside, and it even warmed up a bit more inside. I was getting very tired, and even Koa was acting a bit more relaxed. So, we went out for a last pee and poop, and then Koa and I headed to bed. It didn’t take Koa too long to doze off, and it took me a little longer. I woke up a little while later, went to the loo, and got back to bed. When Koa woke me up for his potty break, he’d been sleeping for about 6½ hours, which was very good of him! We managed a bit more sleep after that, and when Koa woke me up again, my watch told me I slept for about 7:45, which was very nice indeed. So, we got up, and we started our “day”. :kirby_prideheart: Ello sweet and lovely Friendos :purple_heart_sparkle:

It's been a little while since my last 3 Good Things Toot... So, on this Sunday, after the very sad Saturday, I want to bring out some positive vibes :bear_love:

:bear_guitar: Three Good Things :bear_dance:

  1. Having a GP 🩺 that listened to my issues, that believed me, that understood me, and who was willing and able to give me better meds ⚕️ (the other GP I had in the practice, she'd been busy to get me to use as little as possible... Which I fully support! But... Not when you're in so much pain, that you're considering calling an ambulance 🚑 to pick you up, because you're not able to properly do anything!).

  2. Having many online and offline Friendos, :pandaheart: who support me when I struggle, and who care about me when I am in need of help/understanding/love... You know who you are, and how much your support helps me to keep going on, even when I am ready to give up... :neomouse_hug_blahaj_heart:

  3. Being so fortunate to have known Arwen for almost 12 years, and to have her at my side... Supporting me throughout the best and worst! And... Having Koa with me now... He's still "in training", but I already love him so much! :blobcatmeltlove:

:kirby_prideheart: Ello sweet and lovely Friendos :purple_heart_sparkle: #GoodMorning and #TZAG everyone :ablobcatcoffee: It's been a decent enough night. Koa and I only walked a shorter walk, chosen by Koa. And I managed to finish two blog posts, which made me feel good. I shared a Toot about dealing with the start of peri, while also being AuDHD. It came forth from a blog post I was writing, as I was/am really struggling with motivation and enjoyment of things. Thank you to all that shared the Toot, it means a lot :blobcatflower:, and thank you to those that replied. It makes me feel less alone on this journey of bigger life changes... I have crated Koa, as he was going too wild for my liking. And, while part of me still feels bad for locking him up for a while, he fell asleep so quickly, and it allowed the both of us some real relaxing time. So, it helped, even if I felt bad for doing it. I feel tired and I hate it. In about an hour, Koa and I will drive to Nijmegen to pick up some groceries at my parents place. I have no plans for today, except to care for Koa and try to relax as much as I can... Hope you're all having a good time and... It's almost weekend, beige "not a cult" members! :bb: :pixy_party: 🫂 🩵 💜 🩷 🐾 :dogeparrot: #PixysJourney

Ever since the last @Pixelix@mastodon.social update, it's been having issues with showing my pixelfed.com account... I don't know if this is a error of Pixelix, as it worked well before the last update... Or if there's is something happening with the settings of Pixelfed.com... I took a screenshot of the error, but it's a foreign language to me, one I know nothing of, so hopefully this will make more sense to the people involved... I have been having some issues with Pixelfed.com for a while now, where several of the browsers that I use for daily stuff just won't show me the Pixelfed site, always some errors... So it could be an error on their side/site, but I don't know who to contact about that... 😔 Thanks in advance for any help/updates! #Pixelix #Pixelfed #PixelfedCom

#Journal of a slightly tired, but still happy, Dutch AuDHD Pixy :pixy_party: (Thursday, 30/04/2026).

Another broken night. Not really due to Koa this time, but due to my body being too sore to deal with, and with my brain being too busy to let me relax. We went to bed in time, because I was so tired, and because it had taken me some time the previous night to fall asleep. So, we went to bed, and after some of the new routine set by Koa and me, he stopped fighting his sleep, and he started to snooze. It would take me three more hours to be able to fall asleep. Before then, Koa already went out for the first time. We slept for a while, about 3½ hours, and then Koa had to go out again. Then, he slept for about 2¾ hours, and he had to go again. We had been in bed for a longer time, but due to my sore muscles, and my busy brain, I had gotten about 6¼ hours of sleep in total. It would have to do, as we got up, and started our day.

I prepped Koa’s meat, used the scale, which was a bit kinder to me, and I got dressed. I took my meds, got my laptop, and I started writing my journal toot. After about 15 minutes, I prepped Koa’s kibble, and he was a very happy doggo. I hoped that he would relax after that, but instead, he got a bit mischievous, and started to nibble on the table. And then, he gave some cries that scared the bejeebus out of me! One of his teeth got stuck a bit in the wood, and he panicked. Well, so did I… I cuddled him for a bit, and then put him in his crate, as I wanted some writing time, without having to worry over Koa hurting himself, or damaging things, while I was a bit distracted. He complained a little while, but then he gave in, and he snoozed peacefully for a while.

After I finished the journal toot, I took Koa out for first walkies. I offered him the olifant (elephant) plush a few times, and he wobbled around with it for a bit. And yes, I was able to film it. 😉 We got back, played for a little while, and then Koa slept a bit under the couch. I do have to listen when he’s under there, as he also likes to nibble on the couch… 🫣 But, he slept for a while, and I was able to work a bit on my blog, and on uploading some pics (and descriptions), and vids. After a while, I was done, and Koa woke up again. We headed back out for a little walk.

There were workers busy behind the house. So, Koa wasn't interested in his olifant, as he was too preoccupied by the big working men, and especially the ones that “melted” when they saw him, and that wanted to shower him with all the cuddles in the world. We had a challenging walk, because Koa kept being distracted by the workers. But, he did his things, and then we walked around the house, and we took the front door to get back home.

After some cuddles and a little snack, Koa started to sink his teeth in the couch again… 😞 So, after several warnings, I had to crate him again, as he was getting a bit too wild, and he started to really bite in my hands when I tried to take him away from the wood he’d been nibbling on (which was a challenge, as he was under the couch, and with my shoulder and chest muscles being so sore… 🫣). Koa wasn’t too pleased, but after a while, he decided that he was indeed a bit tired, and he dozed off.

I tried to read for a little while, while Koa was snoozing, which was very nice. When Koa woke up again, we headed out for another walk. The workers were still there, so many distractions again. I tried to sit in the garden with Koa for a while after that, but Koa kept trying to grab little rocks and all… So after getting yet another rock from his mouth, I gave up, and I took him back inside. We played a little, and then we relaxed for a while. Mum texted me that she was on her way to us with some of my groceries.

Koa and I went out again, so we could meet and greet my mum when she’d arrive. We saw Nicole and the big black 🖤 fluff, and we tried to get him more used to Koa, bit by bit, Nicole and I chatted for a while, and then mum came, so we headed to her. I locked up Koa in his crate for a moment, so I could get the groceries safely inside. When we were done, when mum got her cuddles, we got to Skoosh, and we drove to Grave for the Welkoop store.

Mum sat in the back with Koa, who was a bit excited about it. We’d forgotten to take a toy with us, so we would look for a nice one at the store. Koa was allowed in the store, but only on his leash. Well, I would not walk him without one anyway! The sliding doors were a bit scary, but he managed, and then we went further, to look for the meat cans, and for a toy. Mum had Koa on the leash, and when I had found the meat, I walked back to her, and I saw that Koa was just finishing a wee… Mum had not noticed! 🫣 She had some tissues, so she started to clean it. I went to the cashiers, with the little guilty party 😉, and I asked for some paper towels so I could clean it up, and I apologized for the accident. And then... That lady thanked me!

I was a bit flabbergasted... Why would she thank me, when I tell her my dog peed in their store? But then she said that accidents can happen, especially with young dogs, but that most people just drag their dog away and pretend it didn't happen. They don't tell them that their dog had an accident, and they certainly don't ask for paper towels to clean it up themselves! Wow... I was so amazed, and a bit angry that folks behave like that... Mum cleaned it up for me, as I had Koa on the leash, and he tried to play with the towels... We got the meat, and mum picked out a toy for Koa as well. There was a doggy scale, so I got Koa on it, and it said 7,95kg, with his harness on. So not too bad all.

I paid for the bits, and asked to borrow some scissors, so I could cut the little duck toy free from the packaging. I wanted to take the bits of plastic home, and put it in the bin there. But the lady beat me to it, and she cleaned them up for me. Guess she was still grateful for my mum and me cleaning up after Koa’s little wet accident. On the way back home, Koa got on mum’s lap, and he tried to doze off bit by bit. But, with every twist and turn in the road, he’d wake up again. Poor thing, I guess he was in for some snoozing after we’d get home.

We got back, and mum watched Koa for a few minutes, so I could take down the dried laundry. Koa was very active, playing with his new duck toy. Then, mum headed back home, and I put Koa to his crate, as he was so terribly tired, and he didn’t take the rest he needed by himself… I fixed some food, and we relaxed together. Some walkies, some cuddles, some more relaxing.

As I had a short night the night before, I was rather tired. So, around 18, I got us ready to head to bed. We had last walkies, last cuddles, and to my amazement, it didn’t take too long before Koa was off in dreamland. If only I could join him! I was dead tired, but my muscles were so incredibly sore, that I took yet another extra painkiller, because it was driving me nuts. Then, when I felt a bit better, my brain was super wired and it would not let me relax. So, I worked on my blog a bit, and I managed to write a few posts. I took Koa out again, and still could not sleep… I was going nuts… I took Koa out again, and then I was finally able to doze off. And, within minutes, I had the worst nightmare of the last moments of Arwen’s life! 😭I woke up crying, and I felt so terribly bad…

I did the one thing I had not tried yet: I got my phone, started to stream Downton Abbey, and I just lay down and watched. And… I dozed off! Koa woke me again after about 3 hours. And then, I’d get back to bed again. When Koa woke me up again, it was 5:15, and time to get up… I had slept less than 5 hours, and felt bad… I hope that my PT can do something about that shoulder, as I do need more and better sleep (and less painkillers) than I am getting now. So, we got up, and we started our day…

Thanks to all for your kindness and support during my "journey through daily life" :bear_love: I really appreciate it 💜 as it helps me to keep going on bad/harder days! :bear_nuzzle:

@MAJ1 Have a good day with your family today! ☀️ Bummer about the weather, but if it's dry, it should be good enough for the drive through the hills and all. Hope all goes well, and that you'll have a fab day 🌞

It's been a while since I shared a three good things Toot. I usually shared them from my Fit account, but now, as I'm trying to combine them all here, I'm sharing it from my main one! 😁

:bear_guitar: Three Good Things :bear_dance: :paw: Koa edition :verified_paw:

  1. When I made a compilation image of Koa, sitting in front of the low living room window, it was obvious how much he had grown in just 8 weeks... He's becoming such a beautiful and big dude!
  2. I got him a light in the color of his harness, to soothe my OCD and all, and it looks awesome! And should help to keep him safer as well.
  3. Koa list his first 4 teefs! 😁 Big boy teefs are in the way!

@MAJ1 Good morning master Skwerl ☀️ Hehe that's not a long venture 😉 Hopefully you had a relaxing day! I missed chatting with you a bit. Koa and I had a good day, and I hope today will be good and relaxed too. 😊 Today and tomorrow are quiet days, then we'll have 4 busy days ahead of us, with (early) birthday 💐 people coming over! (although I suspect the use my bday as an excuse to come cuddle Koa some more 😂). Hope you had a good night dear! 🤗

  1. Had a wonderful walk with Koa and a sweet neighbor yesterday morning... We both were exhausted, but we had a good time.

  2. Getting some refunds from the energy and water companies (although the money is spent before it's received, 😂 stupid things that need buying and replacing).

  3. Having a tiny bit of savings in my account, so I could afford a new pair of shoes... My current two pairs both decided to start dying on me at the same time... My reserves are so tiny, the scammers will almost pay me instead of try to scam me... 😂 But in a few days, my feet should be happier again with sturdy, non-dead shoes...

Koa and I haven't had our longer walk yet... Guess I'd better put on my longer pants (give the bitey beasties less chance to snack on me), and see if Koa is interested in a walk... 😊 (and see if I can motivate myself, as I usually love the nightly walks, but somehow, I'm a bit lost for motivation now... 😔).

:kirby_prideheart: Ello sweet and lovely Friendos :purple_heart_sparkle: I've written #introduction toots before. Several older ones have been pinned 📍 to my account. But, as I am trying to combine my three accounts into just this one, I wanted to write a new introduction here. I am Pixy, or Cynni, and am currently 46 years young/old. I have identified as bi for many years, but lately, I feel that enby suits me better. Or autienby even. I have many different health issues, both mental ones and physical ones. Main health topics that I may Toot about are: cptsd, fibromyalgia, depression, anxiety, autism, ADHD, and hypermobility. I have had many hip surgeries in the right side, where I'm currently using my third take hip. I have lived with my furry soulmate Arwen for almost 12 years. She was my whole world... Unfortunately, she passed away on July 4th 2025. On February 25th 2026, a chocolate Labrador litter was born. The girl that "should" have been my gall, she didn't make it. Due to circumstances, a boy pup became available. So, since April 22nd 2026, Koa Koolani is living with me, spicing up my life (and eating all my spoons, among other things 😉). In the other pinned 📍 toots, I have explained more about me and the Fedi. How I sometimes struggle with social interaction. How I find it easier to "just" like or boost even, but find it harder to actually reply with words. Currently struggling a bit with my. AuDHD, as my routine has been broken when Koa came, and we're still working on getting back to a routine that works for me (and him). I try to use hashtags as much as I can. I always do my best to add alt texts to my images and videos. Yes, I do use AI for certain things, as some things I just can't do properly on my own... 😔 Fankoos for checking out my little new introduction! Looking forward to getting to know you better. :blobcatflower: :bear_love: Catch you all later lovelies. 🩷💜🩵 :pixy_party: 💜 🍀 🐾 #PixysJourney

It's been a while since I shared one of these... Things have been "shitty" in many ways, and I struggled to see the positive things... Guess they were harder to see through the tears of sadness and pain...

But now, trying to relax on the couch, I feel I need to look past the tears, and see the things that were happening as well, the ones that made it possible for me to keep going...

  1. Seeing Koa happy and naughty! It's his natural state of puppy-ness, so it's just Koa being Koa... But, with me struggling to provide him with what he needs (what I think he should be getting from me), I love seeing him enjoy all the positive things that are still available to him. :flying_hearts:

  2. Having an ASS-ADHD coach now, and she's amazing! She helped me get a quick GP visit, and made sure I was heard, and being taken seriously. Now, I have a diagnosis, and they're working on providing me the meds I really need... :pandaheart:

  3. Having people around me that care about me (and Koa), that accept me for who I am, that support me in what I do, and... That are there for me when I need them, even though they have busy lives/their own struggles as well. These people, both online and offline, deserve a huge shout out! (those online ones... You know who you are!). :bear_hug:
