Deep fakes are not actually the problem, and giving people the ability to sabotage social media companies by publishing things they are liable for and getting them sued is acceptable either. They are a public space, and ought be moderated as a public space, as if it were a park or sidewalk. Restore the natural consequences of being an asshole.

I was, in fact, deliberately opposing the idea that we should restrict any individual person and instead restrict companies.

The whole "AI-slop/misinformation/infotainment" thing is a lost cause, has always been a lost cause. That it is now here in a new way doesn't make it any different from old yellow journalism in the papers.

I am gonna pause right here queen. I didn't come to the left to hate anyone, quite the opposite, I moved to the left because it is about caring for others. I have absolutely no interest in supporting hatred of any kind, data center or otherwise. Mostly because hate isn't a reasonable unifying force. It is inherently unreasonable and I have no interest in dealing with such things.

I don't think people understand yet that this is not a solution. You do not get free of capitalism by aligning with capitalists, and unless you get free of capitalism you are not going to actually get anything you want, because the root of the problem is capitalism.

This is true whether they are in a hospital, a care home, any time they are under medical care, their consent for things is required if it would put them there. It would be infinitely easier to stage a photoshoot on a set then in a medical building.
