... when I cane across a flea market in a small neighbourhood and some people had a little makeshift box-table and were selling individual rusty nuts, bolts & so on. It did make a huge impression on me as I still think about it from time to time. At the time it made me wonder about poverty, nowadays about waste and what efficiency really means because it certainly ain't this speedy (literally) terra bruciata rush towards climate disaster ... #climatediary #waste #nonrenewbles

... waste. I hate this world we have created where all is cheap so people think it has no value and where everything is easily bought, so can as easily be thrown away. These are some of the screws that came under the hoover and I picked them up for them, although I doubt they will be used again, what with the nail- and the screwguns, which incidentally produce a fair amount of plastic waste. This goes on every day in myriads of places... but I still remember on my first and only visit to Dublin

@clew@ecoevo.social check on the website of the heritage seed library, they have good material on there. If I find something else I'll get back to you

@clew@ecoevo.social I suspect you'll have better chance of finding specialistic bits and bob rather than a whole compendium, as it is a rather vast topic. It's the kind of thing FAO would write guides and booklets on too.

How to germinate avocado seeds. Chuck them in a pot and forget to water them. works every time. I just looked up from watering plants outside into the window and went ha! #plants #propagation

@CharlieMcHenry @Compassionatecrab it is!

@afewbugs @sheffieldmaskbloc @maskblocorg if all fails, maybe a foodbank? They do have a structure to distribute and some people may well want them even if they are not in a covid safe group (yet). And I too remember having read that the elastics are the only parts that really degrade.

@Pepijn no, but geese chased me and one had a go at my rear while I was gingerly walking on a path within their territory
