Apparently, some clueless old men were confused about why I have two ham radio callsigns and they angrily insisted that I'm only allowed one. They are wrong, dead wrong. While it's true that in the US and in some other countries, they only issue one callsign, however, you can still get a second callsign from another country and some countries will let you obtain 2 or more callsigns for use within that country. I have two callsigns because I'm licensed in two countries. #hamradio #amateurradio

Attention Pride Radio Network users: The replacement HRI-200 has arrived and the WIRES-X node is back online! Huge thanks once again to the anonymous donor for helping make this replacement possible. I could use some help with testing, connect to room 85527. #hamradio #amateurradio

@nieldk@infosec.exchange All you would need to do is first, make sure the other country you want your other callsign from will let a foreigner get a callsign and would also allow remote exams, and two, study their rules, regulations, and other relevant ham radio stuff within that country, and three, schedule the exam, pass it, pay for your license fees if applicable, and you'll get your second callsign. Information varies by county. EDIT: it helps a lot if you have a friend who will lend their address to you.

Brandmeister & their policies are openly hostile against the spirit of ham radio. The people who run that network are a bunch of jerks. Many of them are also incredibly toxic & also homophobic/transphobic. For my concern, they all can go fuck themselves.

Trolls tried to jam me while I was making HF contacts via a remote controlled station on 7.198 MHz. They were playing tones & audio sweeping noises. They also rebroadcasted my live-stream without permission on frequency. They also commented on how bad my call sign was. #hamradio #amateurradio

@vk6flab@mastodon.radio Dang, that sucks you have someone messing with you constantly, that gives off creepy stalker vibes. Hopefully, they will be dealt with soon. But yeah, the behavior of those dipshits that were messing with me last night while I was operating has been captured on my live-stream, and the video of that stream is public on my YouTube and Twitch channels.

@wb2ifs@mastodon.hams.social I also heard lids at and around 3.840 MHz. But yeah, I wanted to stay below 7.200 so I could increase my potential for DX contacts, but my license (general) doesn't let me access 7.125-7.175. Most of 7.175-7.200 were wall-to-wall nets & QSOs and 7.200-7.300 were wall-to-wall QSOs and shortwave broadcast stations, plus not all countries allow hams on that range, so I was forced to settle on 7.198 at that time. It's frustrating.

I'm looking for a panel unit for the Yaesu FTM-300DR; this is basically the control head. I wound up permanently breaking mine during a failed repair attempt. Does anyone have a panel unit or a dead FTM-300 with a working panel unit?

@M0YNG@mastodon.radio I'm getting spammed with "503" error codes each time I load into Mastodon, yet I'm still able to load into it fine, it's weird.
