@jimray@mastodon.social Up to now, I've grumbled about guilt trips over individuals failing to pretend-recycle every last scrappet of plastic, while corporations get to play 3-card Monty buying and selling (at profit) 'credits' rather than cleaning up their messes. Everything about this what you've linked is _much_ worse.

#Mastodon experts: I'm tryna move to a different instance. One of the instructions is "The new account must first be configured to back-reference [the old] one". Nowhere else is this "back-reference" term used or explained. What does it mean, please? Is this the same as the "alias" the new instance told me I had to add on the new account before migrating? Sounds like it might be, but ???
