@VeroniqueB99@mastodon.social we all look at this differently now, too..

@VeroniqueB99 Alas, the people who most need to see this, never will...

@VeroniqueB99@mastodon.social Meanwhile, MAGAT voters..

@VeroniqueB99@mastodon.social probably a lot of useless ones as well.

@VeroniqueB99@mastodon.social thats the explanation for why service has been a little weird.. things arriving hours late

@VeroniqueB99 but i am wondering when this de-federation thing @ .cloud is really going to kick in & be felt

@VeroniqueB99 ever get around to trying nostr? :awesome:

@VeroniqueB99@mastodon.social yeah. strange, isn't it? got the word from some other ppl on msto.party that theyre doing updates rt now.

@VeroniqueB99@mastodon.social for being de-federated, this server isn't dropping many posts.. meanwhile over at mstdn.party things arent going so great

@VeroniqueB99@mastodon.social prolly a wash..

@VeroniqueB99@mastodon.social OTOH we have his late departure from the field in 2024 to thank for hamstringing Kamala's campaign. Partly a sin of the party, but partly also one of Joe's most fateful miscalculations. What were they thinking?

@VeroniqueB99@mastodon.social perfect choice, actually..

@VeroniqueB99@mastodon.social Epstein files of a different era.

@VeroniqueB99@mastodon.social creative recycling?

@VeroniqueB99@mastodon.social I'll bet she wears the pants in the marriage..

@VeroniqueB99@mastodon.social the more things change, the more they stay the same. everything but IQ's that is..

@adacosta@twit.social @rbreich@masto.ai Reining the whole circus in is long overdue, by about 15 years. Make a sober assessment of the future promises that have been delivered, as well as those that have not. Their delivery success rate isn't that great and not much better than any conventional old industry, despite our society's collective hopes. Ultimately it all devolved into a cynical cash grab, and that's when the leash needs to be jerked- and jerked hard.

@adacosta@twit.social @rbreich@masto.ai Ultimately tech companies have shown themselves to be stolidly & stodgily conventional businesses, run along utterly conventional lines & with completely conventional results on average. It's time for the charade to end, the circus to be over. Tax and regulate these companies just like everybody else. In 30 years they have demonstrated they are stolidly conventional wall street tools, not genius wonder boys. The masquerading-as-innovators ball is over. Time for masks off.

@adacosta@twit.social @rbreich@masto.ai And time to be honest and sober about what 1990's "innovation" and concepts did and didn't deliver, 30 years on.

@PythonLinks @QasimRashid

@EI3JDB who knows?

@EI3JDB paradoelia?

@AssalRad I suspect next week is going to be a busy week over there.

@screambiogenesis@mastodon.social you could buy a lifetime supply of rag-rugs for the same money at ikea.

@adacosta@twit.social @rbreich@masto.ai I think we all got more than a little lost in the 90's over the internet and all the (positive?) changes that computers were expected to wreak on society. Early tech bros were given a long leash, both for shareholder value and for maximum creativity, disruption and change. They certainly delivered on that first part. The latter things, much less so. But this too, took time to become apparent and come into focus.

@adacosta@twit.social @rbreich@masto.ai Their true masters are on wall street..
