@hodomania_simpson@indieauthors.social that's a bell hanging on the rolled end of a pole. It stands just outside of a door, possibly one that's in a tree trunk.
You have to shake the pole, to ring the doorbell... But there's enough flexibility in the pole that the bell doesn't ring with the wind.
And it gives the sweetest little tinkle, making it a pleasure to ring - a sound you wouldn't think would penetrate the wooden door, but it does, every time!

@Maker_of_Things@cupoftea.social the Tintwistle one has been declared a major incident whilst a helicopter is again being used for the Dovestones one, to take water from the reservoir, up the hills, to try to douse the fire.
The smell and smoke comes and goes here, depending on the wind direction. I fear it'll be this way until we get some (significant) rain.
