@aral@mastodon.ar.al It seems as though it's in Israel's interest (or the sociopath-lead govt believes that it is) for the distinction to be blurred, i.e. between Israeli and Jewish. When any criticism of Israel is considered, under the new catchall definition of antisemitism, as antisemitic-it's extremely difficult to not be "antisemitic". Corbyn pointed out the nonsense of the new IHRA definition and refused to adopt it, but then, of course, criticism of the new definition of antisemitism was in itself considered to be antisemitic.

What a sad and insecure pos Trump is, so much harm done so he can try to look better than a great leader/Obama. Could he have failed less completely and utterly? I don't see how 🙄

Amanda Knox: there's something truly and deeply wrong with this woman, imho. I don't know about her guilt or innocence, but when I look in her eyes I don't see human emotion, I see someone who likely doesn't have a conscience. And it seems to me that it would take this level of detachment in order to think it acceptable or appropriate to turn her "experience" into standup comedy. I get that the Edinburgh Frnge is about pushing the boundaries of what comedy is and can be, but I wish she'd picked another venue... elsewhere.. like maybe the Sydney Fringe Comedy events?

I wasn't aware of this racist legislation being passed in the Knesset in 2018, tbh, just reading about it now. I must say Israel seems well on its way to being a theocracy.

It's also, lately, a nation of hypocrites, as is the UK/France and every other western democracy crying 'too much immigration!' The loathsome orange guy himself owes his own existence as an American to his grandfather having dodged the draft and then having gotten banished from Bavaria.

Retroactively applying new law is never going to be popular... unless it adversely affects fascistic grifters! On the other hand, it does seem somewhat hypocritical - the Russians were financing the Tories for years; we have a Lord of Siberia in the HoL ffs! @pneumaculturist@hcommons.social I agree with the aims of the proposed legislation, but proposed legislation is a 'bill' not an 'act'. It only becomes an act one it is passed.

@sundogplanets@mastodon.social I wouldn't stress about it - it's insane that they got any funding in the first place but I don't think this pointless project is gonna get off the ground. The money they'd need to launch the number of satellites that they'd need to achieve what they're promising... no, it just doesn't add up.
