I am heartened by the massive #BikeBoston community showing tonight in #Boston for #LouisaGag. Hundreds of people from all over, so many friends.
I feel for every speaker (yes, even that one) and every staffer and her whole family. Every detail about this situation makes me more emotional, so much rage and anger and love.

Guess what!? That actual care from Cambridge for bike safety has led to Hampshire Street seeing >80% of vehicles at rush hour being bikes. This is literally decreasing congestion, you would need to widen the street to be >10 car lanes to get that many people through.
(it was a chilly and damp spring evening today leaving Boston City Hall)

@thomasconnor@mstdn.social @my_roxbury@better.boston that's such a better way to come up with names than "this city has a bunch of winning men's sports teams, pretty please let us fit into the cool kids group"

@TheWarOnCars@mastodon.social 1500 wind turbines feels like a tiny amount. Projects are commonly dozens or hundreds of turbines, so that's like 100-200 projects, right?

That both Newbury and Hanover don't at least have automatic bollards to pedestrianize from 4pm Friday-Sunday night every week is such a self-own due to lack of ambition and imagination by everyone with power in #Boston. I guarantee everyone would be clamoring for more duration and locations throughout the city.

@scottsthoughts@better.boston not allowing helmets with no offered storage is something I've dealt with a few times (looking at you TD Garden). If you are on a BlueBike, there isn't even the option to lock it with your bike.

@Kevin @crystalvisits @BenGleason Cambridge and Somerville are unannexed neighborhoods of Boston. West Roxbury is more of a suburb than Camberville, but Brookline broke the process

Literally a mile to see the difference in care for streets. None of this "our commitment to bike safety is our Safe Routes to School program that is externally funded and is putting up signs in school zones"

@frenchtoast@better.boston this process of randomly selecting public commenters in the middle of the staff testimony is a wild "process"

@scottsthoughts@better.boston aren't you a season ticket holder of a sports team?
