What's the first thing you think of when you hear the word troll?
Stone bridges, and Terry Pratchett's character Detritus.

Some days you need the trunk, some days you need to stay grounded.
- Hawk
- Heron
- Hummingbird Hawk Moth
All spotted on the same day of my travels this week.
#WordWeavers Aug 9:
What's the smallest detail you've researched for a story?
Want to answer this but genuinely can't as I've been writing so long I can't recall most of the details I've had to look up.
How about the smallest hill on which I'm willing to die?
If you cut a kiwi*fruit* in half and place the cut half on the ground, that's the smallest hill on which I'm willing to let go of life. It's a kiwifruit. Kiwi*fruit. Not a kiwi.

#WordWeavers Aug. 8:
Which character would survive a zombie apocalypse, and why?
Justice (names changed to protect innocent characters).
Not just a fighter, survival's already her thing. Plus, she's got a kick-arse sharp sword and armour, which puts her ahead of the game.
#ScribesAndMakers Aug 9:
Have you ever switched perspective (1st, 2nd, 3rd person, 3rd close, cinematic, etc) mid-chapter/story? Was it successful in your opinion?
Yes, but only because I wasn't paying attention.
#ScribesAndMakers Aug 8:
Polymorphous
Me? Or the novel's characters?
Because, uh, yes.
Not sure how it's possible to be human without experiencing different stages of development, and I want to shake the hand of any writer that pledges a fully developed character onto the page without any changes to that character's behaviour, motivation, or reactions in the face of an emerging story.

Well, there's this horse, see...
How to tell if you're a writer.
Does the question of a sword being kick-arse or kick-ass send you down a rabbit-hole investigating historical separation of the two versions in UK English v. US English?
If yes, probably a writer.
If no, probably not.
#WordWeavers Aug 6:
If your villain had to spend a day with your hero, what would happen?
They would use state sanctions to execute her.
#WritersCoffeeClub Aug 4:
Do you consider yourself a writer, an author, an artist, something else? Why?
Writer.
Correctly or not, I think of an author as being someone who's had a book published, which isn't yet the case for me.
An artist is someone who paints or draws. On a good day, I might render a decent crayon scribble.
ADHD: The Musical!
100 minutes of someone on stage randomly moving props and bits of scenery, followed by 12 songs crammed into 20 minutes.
Nothing creates a sense of superpower so much as ticking one tiny item off the to do list.

World Coconut Day, Sept 2.
No stretch to say that without coconuts, millions of people south of the equator would find life difficult.
Their water keeps you alive when there's no fresh, drinkable water, their flesh is eaten, leaves from the tree are used for everything from clothing to roofing, and trunks for timber, and husks for ropes, mats, and gardening.
All hail the coconut!
