Nach dem erfolgreichen Abschluss des mit Mitteln der Europäischen Union finanzierten Projektes „European Language Grid“ liegt nun eine umfassende Dokumentation des Sprachtechnologie-Projektes vor. Das Buch ist #OpenAccess und kann kostenlos heruntergeladen werden.

Occiglot initiative to develop generative open source language models for European languages.

Melya Boukheddimi, a PhD in robotics, works as a senior researcher at the #DFKI Robotics Innovation Center in #Bremen. Her research is dedicated to developing intelligent #robotic systems and pioneering control algorithms for fluid motion. Anwendungen auf Basis von Künstlicher Intelligenz (KI) stellen einen Wendepunkt im Journalismus und in der Mediennutzung dar. Um Redaktionen in diesem Veränderungsprozess zu begleiten, hat die Deutsche Presse-Agentur das Projekt “Wegweiser KI” gestartet.
In Zusammenarbeit mit dem Deutschen Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI) bietet die dpa Medienhäusern und journalistischen Organisationen ein kostenloses Trainings- und Mentorship-Programm an.
Tanja Schneeberger, from DFKI Berlin, is a researcher in human-computer interaction with a background in psychology. She got to know DFKI during an internship researching new interaction methods for future cars and has been hooked ever since. Today, Tanja is part of the Affective Computing Group, where she works on new ideas to improve the treatment of people with depression using virtual agents.

If Mansi Sharma hadn't been a doctoral student in computer science at DFKI Saarbrücken, she might have chosen a career in medicine and become a surgeon to save and improve lives. This may be one of the reasons why she has developed an AI-based system that enables surgeons to sharpen their surgical skills and gradually adapt to increasingly complex challenges.

Julia Mayer from the SmartCity Living Lab in Kaiserslautern studied mathematics. In her work on the "Ageing Smart—Designing Spaces Intelligently" project, she focuses on data management, data governance, and the quality of urban data. This way, Julia can use her knowledge to highlight people often disadvantaged in the data on which the software is based. Lorena Göritz from #DFKINiedersachsen has a master's degree in psychology and works in the Smart Enterprise Engineering research department at the intersection of #AI and #education. One of her main goals is identifying and mitigating implicit #discrimination in organizations, for which she has already received an award and is now focusing on in her Ph.D. work. Lorena is the first of five women DFKI is featuring as part of its #WEatDFKI:
