A Laser diode at work got fried. Since I did not know what a failure of one of these looked like under the microscope, the SEM at the @FabLabMuc@muenchen.social was the ideal tool to find out.
The wave guide is hardly a guide any more, with the metallisation layer distributed everywhere, but where it was supposed to be.

I have had major issues colour grading this photoshoot for various reasons. Now I‘m in possession of an (old, but accurate) display. I can‘t wait to use this to once and for all get my pictures looking consistent.
