This week's Tavern Brawl is WHO'S THE BOSS NOW? in which we all get random boss powers to use... which can make for a chaotic experience. But who doesn't need a little chaos in their lives? Plus we have deck suggestions that will help you win this one.

Play before Wednesday to pick up a free pack! https://blizzardwatch.com/2026/08/26/hearthstone-tavern-brawl-whos-the-boss-now/

Dust off your goggles and scarf, and get ready to show off your Skyriding skills. The Northrend Cup is back for the next two weeks!

Eric is bringing us all the lore behind the Venomous Abyss, just in time for the Race to World First to actually start killing them in Mythic. Neat!

Liz cannot stand all of these snakes, and more stories from the Coiled Isle and Midnight Season 2 in this week's Blizzard Watch Podcast, which is live right now for the listening. https://blizzardwatch.com/2026/08/21/blizzard-watch-podcast-coiled-isle-many-snakes/

It has been a long and trying week, so thank goodness we have some baby pygmy hippo videos to bless our way into the weekend, in celebration of baby pygmy hippos Maple and Piper. https://blizzardwatch.com/2026/08/21/hold-friday-horses-weve-blessed-not-one-two-precious-pygmy-hippo-babies/

It's a lovely Friday afternoon so what video game are you planning on staying inside and playing this weekend? I've been seeing buzz about Routine lately, so I may grab that, but if I'm being for real, I'm probably just going to vibe around in Salt 2 again. How about you?

I have never once in my life wondered when I could go back to Siege of Orgrimmar, the Hotel California of Warcraft raids. So it is with mixed feelings that I report Siege of Orgrimmar is coming to Mists of Pandaria Classic with Phase 5, launching in June.

Please report in if you manage to escape. We have a support group that meets Tuesdays during maintenance. https://blizzardwatch.com/2026/05/13/mists-pandaria-phase-5-siege-orgrimmar-timeless-isle/

RE: @BlizzardWatch@gamepad.club

World of Warcraft servers are back online early.

That's it, I don't have any jokes are snide comments. The servers are online, so good luck with your next loot drop!

If you've been wondering how long you have to finish up Diablo 4's season journey rank reliquary battle pass, Season 13 is a short season, and it's just about a month before Season 14 launches.

And, yes, I'm just throwing all the words at this hoping some of them will stick, because no one can actually keep track of what things are called in Diablo 4.

"We were trying to save you from yourselves by capping Crests, but if that's the way you want it, fine. We hope you choke on them, sickos." - probably not something Blizzard would actually say except in the Slack chat.

On Wednesdays, we wear pink.

We usually don't post The Queue to socials, because that's where we, like, hang out, you know? But I just have to draw everyone's attention to Liz's phenomenal Great Value treehouse build.

Starting soon! Join Liz and Mitch as they play through spooky indie game The Seance of Blake Manor on Twitch! We're definitely making progress in this definitely not haunted house mystery. https://www.twitch.tv/blizzardwatch

On Wednesdays we wear pink.

I had a slight panic attack earlier today because I looked at my WoW Twitch Drops, and apparently I'd only watched 1 hour and 17 minutes toward the Cuddly Pearl Grrgle decor item! Lucky for me, there's still around 24 hours to go to get it. Whew.

If you could add one animal mount to World of Warcraft, it would obviously be a giraffe. If you could add a second animal mount to World of Warcraft, again, obviously, it would be a flying shark. But if you could add a third animal mount to World of Warcraft...

Hey girl, are you a World of Warcraft server? Because you announced in advance you're going to be offline for an extended period today for self care and maintenance, and I gotta respect that.

RE: @BlizzardWatch@gamepad.club

All servers are back online, so I guess we can go back to snake island now. :(

Yes, we're up all night to watch the Venomous Abyss Race to World First.

Which mostly means watching splits.

We're doing it anyway.

Lore Watch Podcast is finally tackling the most important topics of World of Warcraft: all of the chaos Gnomes are getting into in the background while the narrative constantly focuses on someone else.

The latest episode is live, so tune in to the full episode (which does have more than gnomes). https://blizzardwatch.com/2026/08/26/lore-watch-podcast-necessity-mother-gnomish-invention/

There are two — but maybe technically four — great games for free this week on the Epic Games Store.

Liz went on vacation last week so I volunteered to write the weekly wrapup post. Don't call it a comeback, etc https://blizzardwatch.com/2026/05/18/blizzard-watch-weekly-return-mack/

It's the last episode of our Kids on Bikes #TTRPG actual play! Join us as we try to untangle the mysterious streak of good luck running through town... particularly now that good luck has turned to bad.

The latest episode is live right now, or you can binge through all three! https://blizzardwatch.com/2026/08/24/tavern-watch-plays-kids-bikes-episode-3-time-pay-piper/

It's been 10 years since we last saw this #Hearthstone Tavern Brawl. No, for real. So you might want to buckle up and grab these deck codes.

For this week's Lore Watch Podcast, Matt, Joe, and Eric talked about who Astalor Bloodsworn is —where we've seen him before, and what the deal is with Anguish. They also talked Hemet Nesingwary’s entourage, and Elune and the World Trees, which both sound like bands from the Riverdale universe.

It's Tuesday, so you know what it's time for again! When I said MAINTENANCE you say WINDOW

MAINTENANCE!

Seems like just yesterday we were doing the Epic Games advent calendar, but it's time for Summer Game Fest. It kicks off today with a Six One Indie at noon eastern, which showcases (appropriately) 61 indie games.

Phase 2 of The Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary released May 14. Phase 2 features The Eye and SSC raids, as well as the Skettis. This lets all players get the Sporebat mounts, answering the question "which Hunter pet is best?"

yeah we're definitely just quoting Indiana Jones until patch 12.2 finally comes along and relieves us of this Sisyphean torment.

I'm a little irked that these classic WoW transmogs are so amazingly rendered in Diablo 4, especially since they have armor dyes and don't have to run Void Assaults for the 3rd recolor of the same transmog, which they can't even see in isometric top-down gore-splattered combat. Just a tad.

Join us! Liz and Liz will soon be playing indie game The Seance of Blake Manor, in which this is definitely not a haunted house, everything is going to be fine, really.

Join us live on Twitch or catch up on YouTube later! https://www.twitch.tv/blizzardwatch

Some of us play games looking for a challenge, to test themselves.

Not me! I just ran through BWL for transmog and I feel like a GOD.

What past content have you been jumping back into now that we're in a much-relished content released lull?

Hearthstone is probably the best weekend game Blizzard has, because you can play it while lying in a hammock with a drink and your eyes half-open. If you don't want to put too much effort into this week's Brawl, we have some decks you can use (and a primer on how to use deck codes from your hammock)

We know the reknown is there, but what's the STUFF you can get from Zul'jarra's Forces? (especially the transmog and housing items!!!) https://blizzardwatch.com/2026/08/26/renown-rewards-12-1s-new-faction-zuljarras-forces/

This is the last weekend in August. I KNOW. But if you want your Night Elf to be a Ky'alldorei, you have to pick up these cowboy transmogs before they ride off into the sunset.

Don't forget to snag your free games of the week! This week its Telltale's Batman, and Sunderfolk, which is from a bunch of former Blizzard devs. Sunderfolk is really interesting in that it's a couch co-op party game which uses phones as the controllers... but I don't have IRL friends to do couch co-op :(
