UWN: A snapshot of what happened this week in Canonical's Ubuntu eco-system. What's happening ? Not much; still slow down. However there is a lot happening on Discourse: an oops in LightDM 1.33, Rust in Ubuntu’s future, and Ubuntu on WSL growth. Plus Circles! sponsoring many events around the world. Finally too, the Kernel Team has been turning and burning.

UWN: A snapshot of what happened this week in Canonical's Ubuntu eco-system. What's happening ? Hey! Amidst the Mid-cycle Sprint planning there are some happenings: a CVE mitigation, 26.10 Wallpaper competition is heating up, MIR process discussion, and 7.0 HWE. The Kernel Team has not slowed down (new noble kernel is out) and bugs getting the upper hand. Anyone can lend a hand to squoosh them. We present Circles! activities too.

UWN: A snapshot of what happened this week in Canonical's Ubuntu eco-system. What's happening ? Just not much this week beside what we can report in the Blogosphere. Of interest though is the 2 articles from Discourse (Hub): debunking Container Myths, and Lightdm updated. Then again are the Stats/Reports/Circles! Events, and other reports. Bug counts are up and the Kernel Team has been industrious.

Yup - you have the right of it that later releases have later packaging versions.

You might consider snaps to install these later versions. IE: on my 24.04 install

sysop@Xm2404:~$ snap find blender
Name Version Publisher Notes Summary
blender 5.0.1

-hope this helps-
