This is still the scariest step in my update cycle. Motherboard firmware updates.
I still remember bricking boards 20 years ago...
Gentoo is the best Distro. Why? Because you made it so.

@matthew@social.retroedge.tech @hor32@hollow.raccoon.quest too bad wd-40 doesn't actually remove rust. It's ment to displace water.

I'm in desperate need of a stuff purge. Anyone else in Ohio that wants some free spare PC stuff? I have like 3 cases a lot of fans and cables. I'll do a inventory in the realm of eventually. But there's even some ddr, ddr2 and ddr3 memory and old IDE HDDs involved.
Maybe @matthew@social.retroedge.tech might want some things. I know he works with older hardware all the time.
@linuxuserspace@mastodon.social Distro that supports 486? Gentoo. After all if it still compiles it's supported.
No one ever seems to want to engage in conversation with me. Makes me sad.
It's time to begin painting my #AdMechs again for #warhammer #40k

@nextcloud@mastodon.xyz sadly I'm an American so I'm not sure Euro office would even want me to. Mostly from a philosophical standpoint since Euro Office exists simply because the EU wants to separate itself from American software companies.
Not that I think that's a bad thing. Competition is a good thing to have.

@ljs@mastodonapp.uk I think it could be arged as one of the best metal albums of all time, but definitely it's a contender in that category.
I could probably label as the best from the pre-digital era since I believe they still recorded and edited that album using analog tech.

@ljs@mastodonapp.uk I can;t disagree, like at all. I wish more artist would commit to making instrumental tracks. You don't always need vocals.
@BrodieOnLinux@mstdn.social I finally now know how to install linux! Who knew it could be so easy! I never knew there was a Next button
Podcasts, I download too many and keep falling too far behind on keeping up with them.

@hpr If I paid better attention to what I was listening to I would. But unfortunately most of my podcast listening is background noise while I'm working on something else.
Good morning #fediverse
I only just learned that Persia is Iran. It never went away. Declined. Sure but the country of Iran today is the same nation we once called Persia.
I was never taught what happened to Persia in school so I've been slowly working on broadening my understanding of world history.

@linuxuserspace you can always add the drivers back in just put the patch files in /etc/portage/patches/sys-kernel/gentoo-kernel/

@pid_eins@mastodon.social As always I'm glad to see an existing project get better and better. And as always I wish I knew the things you were talking about because it does in fact go a bit over my head.
There will be no video tomorrow sorry guys.
The Imperial Fists are my choice chapter for space marines. Mostly because I just like the yellow and Dorn made quite the impression on me after reading a few Horus heresy novels. I'm working on thinking on a basing scheme for them right now.
