Regular expressions are very powerful, yet can be tricky to create.

Would you like to see a set of "challenges" that we complete and learn from together?

Conditions:

No outside help (websites, AI, local tools)
No peeking in the answers
We have to decide on a single tool that works on #Linux and #BSD using the same regex engine

Who remembers the old #Macintosh scripting language, AppleScript? The Hypercard language HyperTalk had a similar character of being verbose but in a way that made the scripting code look a bit more like natural English. I was rather fond of it even if it was a bit belabored. So uh... what would #regex look like if it were AppleScript style?
