The Bubble Nebula, also known as NGC 7635, Sharpless 162, or Caldwell 11, is an H II region emission nebula in the constellation Cassiopeia. It lies close to the open cluster Messier 52. The "bubble" is created by the stellar wind from a massive hot, 8.7 magnitude young central star, SAO 20575 (BD+60°2522). The nebula is near a giant molecular cloud which contains the expansion of the bubble nebula while itself being excited by the hot central star, causing it to glow. #Nebula #star #space

Just made these until it got cloudy ☁️ #C20, also known as the North America #Nebula (NGC 7000), is a large and famous emission nebula in the constellation #Cygnus at a distance about 1,800 to 2,200 light-years from Earth.

Hi folks, as promised, here's one of my first attempts at the Mosaic stacking using the dwarf 3 telescope. I'm not entirely happy with the way that it has turned out, but as a learning process and to give you a look at how things are going I thought I would let you have a look. I think this could use some reprocessing and I'd like to tinker with it a bit more. Maybe it's one to get some other of my mates with Dwarf3 to do a star party collab with. But as it is - not unattractive and gives me a feel for how it works. So what we're looking at here is a good wide view at least in terms of how the dwarf 3 does it of the Rho Ophiuchi neighborhood and the nebulas hanging around there. #Astrophotography #BackyardAstrophotography #SouthernHemisphereAstronomy #SmartTelescope #Dwarf3 #Nebula #Astrodon

@ms_zwiebel@tech.lgbt I haven't settled yet on what's a decent VPN alternative, although my current frontrunners are Njalla (run by a co-founder of The Pirate Bay) and Nebula by Defined.net. Not sure about their politics, but distributed and Nebula is FOSS which is a positive signal, while not a guarantee. What I've ruled out: ProtonVPN - Actively working with government against activists Windscribe - Transphobic indications Mullvad - Funding a fascist leaning party I'd love to hear anything people have learned about the alternatives, either pro or against. Boosts appreciated for reach. #Mullvad #VPN #Privacy #Politics #ProtonVPN #Windscribe #Njala #Nebula #DefinedNet

Eagle nebula - m16.. shot over 2 nights in mono, total exposure around 5 hours. I'm at latitude 57°N, this nebula doesn't even get to 20° altitude and considering there is no astro-darkness at this time of year, as the exposures were coming in, I felt as if I'm picking apples from behind the fence that don't belong to me. Strange feeling. #Astrodon #Astronomy #Astrophotography #Nebula

The Iris Nebula (NGC 7023) during the June heatwave in northern Germany. This reflection nebula is located about 1,300 ly from Earth, where a bright star illuminates the surrounding dust. This image was created over 4 consecutive nights from Bortle 5 with a total exposure time of 5 h 21 m 30 s (643 x 30 s). Cold and crisp, and long winter solstice time nights have made for great observation times here in #PerthWesternAustralia . So now that it's come over all cloudy and rainy it's time to do some processing. I have been catching a couple of snippets of things at the end of a longer project, and this is one of them. The Lagoon Nebula says hi! Just 55 minutes. #Astronomy #Astrophotography #SouthernHemisphereAstronomy #SmartTelescope #Dwarf3 #DrivewayAstrophotography #BackyardAstronomy #Nebula #LagoonNebula #Astrodon
