I made a #sandwich tonight out of #bread I #baked. It feels pretty damn good to eat a sandwich with fresh home made bread. Photo of bread attached. Moldy sour, nice texture, crust could be a little crunchier.

I earnestly LOVE when my neighbors throw a large and raucous birthday party. They always have a live mariachi band, they sing and chat until late into the night. I hear the echos of their laughter bouncing down the street. The live music, long since ceased, is echoed by a much quieter stream of gently pulsing tuba music and the gradually dimming chatter.

They throw these parties maybe thrice a year. Makes me feel like we are in The Shire. It feels very Intensionally Present.

I got two tins of my favorite pipe tobacco in the mail last week and have been too down to enjoy it yet.

Feeling really down on myself right now. I left my banneton in my Dutch oven, in the oven, while baking bread in a loaf tin. The thing is ashen all over and the whole house smells like burnt popcorn/flour. I can’t afford another banneton and I love baking so, so much. It’s like my only outlet right now. I’m glad I didn’t start a fire or anything.

@bikepedantic@transportation.social don’t sweat it too much. She’ll get there. I think I was 7 before I started being interested in reading. I recommend turning in subtitles / closed captions while watching shows or movies, and reading out load the text from games. Or making a game of writing HER story, or a story her toys are involved in.

Took 5.5yo to see Mario. She liked it. I enjoyed a few minutes and was pleasantly bathed in colors the rest of the film. 2/10 movie but 10/10 to spend some time with kiddo.
