GrapehenOS explaining the difference between SecurityAttestation and BusinessModelAttestation 😁
If you use some of these apps listed in the article, maybe enlighten their developers too 😁

there is no such thing as "fewer regulations" in economy.
It's just a question of who get's to write them and if you are allowed to know about them.
There are regulations that are law.
And in absence of law there are tons of implicit regulations, internal guidelines, licenses and all sorts of agreements made by companies themselves.
They are regulations all the same, but self-written to benefit only the designers.

However,
This DOES give us a glimpse into a future, where goods are no longer produced for consumers but only for big tech.
Where the consumer and small businesses will no longer have the option to buy what they need, but will have to make due with whatever scraps are left to buy at unreasonable prices.
The surprises of chinese upselling.
My mother has a hand vacuum. It stopped charging. She bought a new one, on the assumption that it would work just fine with the existing charging station. (same model, but without co-packaged charging dock, which was no longer available as a set)
Nope.
They actually produced two different versions, so they could save money on the two tiny metal contacts at the bottom.

This is awesome ...
Nigerian distributors made a home-made promotion video about the product they bought and are reselling.

No AI, just a minimal-cost high effort video tailored to an audience and culture I know way too little about.
full disclosure: The product is something I worked on 😃 so I guarantee it works very well.

That was also one of my first reactions, but on reflection I don't think it's accurate.
I think they mainly want to hamper their direct compentation.
The damage to the PC market was originally unintended, but as always, those bros try to exploit all new circumstances to their benefit.
So, yes, they might double down on that now.
Thankfully there are still big Interests aligned with a thriving PC market. Nvidia might have abandoned the consumer but not everybody did yet

Ja das nervt uns alle.
Aber dank des Konzepts, kannst jetzt nachträglich upgraden, sollte es irgendwann wieder RAM für Normalsterbliche geben ..

Real humans, at some point, do the total cost calculation of afterwards having to live in constant fear of having the same done to them as well as the damage to humanity, international relations and trade and their own standards of living...
And decide that this is not worth it.
#AI just gets told "to win" and executes without the human subtext

Meine letzte viel kleinere Anfrage für den r3 hat auch gut 2-3 Wochen gebraucht und wir wollten nur schnelleren Versand, kein Sponsoring.
Aber ok, ich les e-Mails auch nur mehr selten 😅

As I understand it, "hardware attestation" is available on all android os variants and hardware that supports authenticated boot. So basically everywhere.

never said it would.
What you describe is indeed the only goal. Removing Google as the middle man and letting the app developer decide.
That is way better than before, because app developers listen to users, while google does not have to
