@LeyviRose In response to an existential threat, there is no action too disproportionately violent or extreme, as what is at stake is survival. It becomes "it's us or them" and survival is not guaranteed for "us" while any of "them" could conceivably exist.
I find I can't muster any surprise at people who witness this and reach the conclusion that the job won't be done until there are no Palestinians living in Gaza, which is why so many reach for "genocide" as the best description they can. 2/2

@peterrelph@mastodon.world a british ex-pat colleague of mine did one of those genetic tests to find out where in their heritage their unusually dark complexion came from, expecting to discover some mediterranean or middle-eastern ancestry. Apparently not. Their genetic makeup was almost exclusively british. But like, *old* british. Before those bloody pallid Anglo Saxons turned up with their weird food and weird accents taking all the jobs and doing whatever other stuff far-right propaganda says immigrants do
