#ScribesAndMakers July 1: Our featured creator is a former librarian. What has been your experience with libraries?
Safe havens. I still feel protected when I enter one.
Like the walls are made of materials that hatred and violence cannot pass.
Like the librarians are silent guards who turn away any horrors that have chased me there, imagined or otherwise.
Like the books all recognize me the way an old dog does.
Long live libraries.
#WritersCoffeeClub June 30: How did this month go for you?
The month is over?! I've been so busy with various projects that I almost missed the end of June. That's something to think about. I've also finished nothing. There's that, too. Still, it's better than not having made any progress at all. Plus, July is ripe for multiple finishes - bookcase, album, the first chapter of the next book, etc.
#ScribesAndMakers Mar 30 Do birds ever feature in your work? Give an example.
In Aros, birds are used as messengers all across the land. High in the mountains, eagles are revered and cloaks of feathers are worn, their lengths often signifying the level of respect one has garnered.
Am I a tinkerer or am I just a futzer? AM I JUST FUTZING?
#WritersCoffeeClub Feb 28: How well did this short month go for you, in terms of writing?
#ScribesAndMakers 2/28. How did your month go?
It went well, thank you.
I published There Used To Be A Forest Here and got a big 'ol shipment of Silent Orchard Rising Storm paperbacks (and boxed a few for early shipping to editor and beta readers).
Also started hearing back from the Library of Congress regarding LCCNs and copyrights. Felt like radio silence for a bit there.
How come we only have two case sizes for letters? What if I want something in-between? Who the hell is making these rules?
I'd like to set up and start using Obsidian this month. Might not get to it, but I've been slowly detaching myself from large Corpo ecosystems. It feels good when I reach a point where I don't NEED the services of a particular company to carry on. Ridding Wakeless of the Goog starts with securing mail and localizing docs. My reliance on Workplace is an issue.
I think I found my 'sound'. Now to polish it. Maybe what I need is a group of beta listeners. It's that a thing?
Oh, is that how you're wearing shirts these days? Hmm.
If I say 'I got this,' drag me away. I DO NOT GOT THIS.
Just asked my brain to 'make the thinking noises' if you want to know why I'll be napping through lunch today.
"Thank you, thank you. I wrote this next song for the people who understand that sitting in the front row comes with its own set of performance responsibilities. A- one, two, three..."
Sometimes, when I skip ahead while listening to an album, I'm really trying to skip ahead in life and keep forgetting that isn't what the button is for.
The warning is for the dragons, but, really, there's a whole world inside that box. Paperbacks are being prepped and shipping soon. Order your copy today.

I'm Still Alive I'm Just Busy
-The R.E. Lockett Storry
Situation:
-Man seeks transportion back to his original timeline.
Complications:
-Payment on arrival cannot be guaranteed. (I don't know what it's like there, just that it's better than here.)
-My children must travel with me. (I will break all the universes to keep my kids. To keep THESE kids. Don't test me.)
- This timeline must retain versions of us. (Find some falling into a volcano or something IDK, just don't leave an empty space for The Void to fill once we're outta here.)
