Voland 🇹🇭
I photograph fashion models and write a blog about it. I live in Asia and I toot about it sometimes. About Apple and VR too. In Nadgryzieni podcast I talk (in Polish) about technology every week.
I spent over 180 hours playing mostly DVa in the reworked #Overwatch season 1, so it’s time for some conclusions (S2 just started). IMO it's better than ever, I like much more dynamic gameplay than in 2016 instead of using shields all the time and depending on healers so much
The game is much more vertical: a lot of heroes can easily take a high ground, jump high, or even move other heroes to high ground. A lot of these changes were made a long time ago, but now we have over 50 heroes. And it's not so much Counterwatch like before, thanks to perks.
Review of facial interface from Bobovr will be done in a few days! It's the one with a free space for air from S3 Pro fan (but very different from AMVR with similar feature, which review I published a few days ago). I also just finished updating game list https://games.thomasvoland.com, but ofc now it's easier to just use a code VOLAND to get a discount, instead of clicking links on the list.
I added Pirates VR: Jolly Roger (https://www.meta.com/affiliates/8RNNYA4gA) and others. #metaquestaffiliate
I did a post on Reddit about my setup for DVa in #Overwatch https://www.reddit.com/r/Overwatch/comments/1ravmyi/dva_uses_joysticks_to_control_the_mech_so_now_i/
I didn't expect such an update to Diablo 2 Resurrected… a new playable character: Warlock 😵 Also new endgame mechanics, upgraded stash, new items, and more 🤯. It's already online as a paid DLC 😱 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6ZnEIcb3lo
AMVR made a facial interface for Quest 3, for people with fan in their halo head straps. It has big free space on top, so air is not stopped by the interface like it usually is. Here is my in-depth review and comparison with other models focused on airflow: https://youtu.be/4bJkdtu2fNc
Starting April 19, 2026, Meta will be increasing the prices Quest 3 and 3S, so it’s the last moment to buy them cheaper. If you do so, pls remember to use a code VOLAND to get $30 for games: https://www.meta.com/affiliates/AQd76SXyE
New prices:
Quest 3S (128 GB): $349.99
Quest 3S (256 GB): $449.99
Quest 3 (512 GB): $599.99
Full info is on Meta's website: https://www.meta.com/blog/update-meta-quest-pricing/
In season 2 of #Overwatch, I plan to play much more Reinhardt because I always liked him, and he is a good counter for heroes which are good against Dva. BTW. I like that somehow the in-game currency I had was enough for a few seasons of battle passes (but they are not really needed).
8 months ago, I received a facial interface from Bobovr. In theory, model F3 is made for maximum airflow, with the option to convert it into an open facial interface. It is not expensive and works with charging docks. I just finished my in-depth review. TL;DW; there are much better interfaces for max airflow, but overall it’s a good value for money and it’s unique in a few ways https://youtu.be/PbqTPkA4AwU?si=indIGMKgkcThp4Z4
I don't understand why I can't preorder the new expansion set for Diablo IV without paying for the first one, which I already bought. Is it like this only with preorders, or is it always like that and they’re just trying to convince people that the old DLC is now “free”?
Bundle of up to 9 VR games (The Light Brigade was on my wishlist for a long time, but Maestro, Cubism or Thrasher everyone knows): https://humblebundleinc.sjv.io/bkm6Nx (this is my affiliate link).
After a lot of testing, I published a review of a facial interface from Bobovr made especially for head straps with a fan. It is the newest video on my channel. The previous video was about an interface from AMVR, also made for such head straps. Until now, the only head strap I had with a fan was the Bobovr S3 Pro, but today I received one from AMVR, and I am very curious how they did it (I didn't unbox it yet).
In the last two years, I also tested some headphones, a lot of VR lenses, haptic equipment, stuff for simulation/cockpit, and also a lot of very weird equipment. Probably a long time ago I should make some videos summarizing my experiences with different head straps, facial interfaces, etc. and hopefully someday I will start doing such content, but for now I have to figure out how to publish everything earlier, not after 1+ year ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
