VLC 3.0.24 is out.
This is mainly a security/maintenance release: 130+ security fixes across VLC and bundled libraries (the most we've ever handled) with LLM-assisted research likely contributing to the volume.
Also: 49 third-party libraries updated, FFmpeg 4.4 → 8.1.2, support for CEA-708 in MP4, ATRAC3/9, SRT listener mode, and a new RSA-4096 update key.
Still supports XP → 11, macOS 10.7 → current, Linux/BSD/OS/2.
Thanks to the Sovereign Tech Fund supporting us!

Developers cannot know all bugs. We are not omniscient. We need people to report bugs :)

dav2d should already be feature-complete, supporting 8-bit and 10-bit decoding, with optimizations for x86 (AVX2) and ARM (AArch64 NEON).
It's not fast yet, but you can achieve 100fps with a fast machine :)

@reiddragon @manx @sashk mostly for Windows (instant crash on quit, failing video output, ..) and Mac, rather minor things for Linux.
