I'm finding it increasingly difficult to believe that any actions I take will improve my life in any meaningful way.
Junior update:
Reached out to my ex, who knows lots of people who are overseas. One of them helped set up wifi chat, so Jr. and ex could discuss things in real time instead of via email.
They appear to have a plan.
Ex says he also told Junior to turn on international before he left the U.S.
Liquor companies already on the shelf in NC prefer the government controlled system: they only have to convince a few people on a committee that their bottles should be sold, not every single store. Plus, companies in NC get a boost.
Winning that presentation means your stuff is available in nearly every store in every county. Stores can not sell it, but they can't choose not on the approved list.
Which is why South Carolina liquor stores are more interesting than NC stores.

I try not to say "I told you so" to people, so I'm going to gloat here.
I told my son to setup international roaming before he left, and he didn't because he didn't want to pay the charges.
I told him wifi isn't available everywhere - just like in the US where most networks require a password.
Now he's got no phone coverage, only has wifi at the hostel, and can't figure out how to get to the airport at 1AM when there are no buses.
I told you so.

I sent a text to the ex since it was quite late ex-time and junior has another day to figure out things. We haven't spoken in years - I'll have to check with junior to see if that's still the right number.
Okay. I'm stuck. Junior is stuck in a foreign country with no way to get to the airport because he declined to set up roaming while still in the US and can't order a ride.
Taxi drivers dispatch by app, but the app requires phone authentication. Rideshare requires phone authentication. All he has is wifi.
Can't set up Google Voice, because that requires phone authentication.
How do we get his phone authenticated without cell service?

I liked that book 5 had POV for the other crew members. Holden is such a naive boy scout that hearing just from him gets tiresome.
It could be said that book 5 also had a girl boss wife who is always right, since Marco never remarried after Naomi.
