@davew@mastodon.social @bosak@flx.masto.host They solved the problem as it was presented to us, of mixing up tags from lots of different sources. The presentation of the problem was convincing. But then it turned out not to be an important problem.

@paninid@mastodon.world @timbray@mastodon.cloud The mastodon.cloud admins seem to be absent. So the alt-right instances are free to abuse anyone on .cloud. Also, if you look at the local feed there's some really sketchy stuff there, wouldn't be surprised if .cloud got defederated from a few places.

Migrating a Mastodon Account

The Mastodon instance I’ve been using, mastodon.technology, is shutting down in a few months, so I’ve migrated my Mastodon account to a new server. I wanted to share the steps I went through in case the details are helpful to anyone, especially others migrating off that instance–especially a warning about when you lose access to your old account. I don’t know if these are the best steps to follow, but they worked for me.
