Now THIS is like my minimum presentable standard.
Started these last Sunday. Pretty much all Speedpaint except for the red (and bases)

Ranking up polearm dudes is hard, I guess that's why the sword/shield build is popular

(I also finished the Blood Bowl Lizardmen box to a basic level and I spent longer on those but they are ... not to my shareable standard. But even they have plain goblin green bases and a pinch of flock...)

Here's a better look at the chaos cultists squad. I played around with different skintones here. I'd started painting these with blue wraps when I remembered that the Firebrand was going to be Zorn palette so I made sure half of them got brown instead. #MiniaturePainting #Warhammer40K #nerdlings

So instead of just bringing the new models in to the Warhammer shop to get credit and my One Million Miniatures swag, I brought everything I painted for the challenge hoping that maybe they'll take and post a photo of them from the showcase today

...but surprise surprise they did not share a picture of my display, so here's MY picture of it because y'all are cool people

Anyway I can get back to painting non-GW stuff now

And I really do mean I shut down because although the CPAP device has immensely improved my sleep quality over the last month I've had it, my sleep has not felt particularly restful (nor have I had enough of it) since last week when we were told that we all need to find ways that slop machines enhance (or don't enhance) our work The job market in this country is in the abyss (and especially for immigrants) so I can't really afford to die on this hill but I will die on it if I have to

I am not cut out for entrepreneurship and nobody would hire me for commission painting anyway (don't know who can still afford it, and my style wouldn't look respectable on a Warhammer table - I mean, feel free to prove me wrong by asking me to paint something for you)

I don't want to cause any drama about it but Warhammer shop guy never posted any of the pictures of my miniatures, when the models in the pics he's been posting for One Million Miniatures (presumably from his chums) don't even have basing done.

I'm rushing a box of Jade Warriors this week and they're as speedpainted as I can get but I don't consider them presentable without at least a solid color base. I have STANDARDS

LMAO an hour on hold and they solve my problem in 30 seconds /shrug Ate all the balance on my prepaid phone line tho. fortunately it was sorted before it cut out (but it really needed to be done today as it's the last business day before my package would have been bounced back to the sender)

Any #Finnish folks out there feel as moved by this song as I do and want to cover it with me? (The album version just came out today and it's just not quite so impactful IMO)

I've long dreamed of covering my favorite songs with, like, other instrumentalists and even making videos but I haven't met people who have that kind of hobby (and who don't have something against playing covers).

I'd prefer an art show/display context, so I can describe my artistic themes and thought process a bit, and also show my 2D miniature paintings (which are arguably better IMO...). But if it's gaming-centered then I'd rather focus on RPG vs wargaming since I paint mostly individual figures (a bunch have self-portrait themes). I NEED people to see what I make. I enjoy painting but it is a deeply self-expressive thing and without an audience there's not a lot motivating me to do it. (2/2)

@zebcestbien@piaille.fr I've participated in both: Ropecon has a display painting competition. IPM is more like a scale model show with a more casual competition (your name is put next to your entries, for one thing), from which I've taken home a few pins. They even have a non-competition display category that I used last year, but I really want to avoid competition-like contexts altogether so my painting style isn't viewed in comparison to more traditionally-styled entries. https://dice.camp/@tiikerikani/115335643572455363
