@nextgraph@fosstodon.org @laurin@mastodon.online l Is this the same European Commission that proposes politicians introduce Chat Control across the EU so we CAN'T have encrypted data privacy?

@nextgraph@fosstodon.org @laurin@mastodon.online Thanks. So to clarify, they did propose then backed down ? It does not fill me with trust sicne it would be extraordinary (unheard of really) for a whole group of powerful people and institutions (a group that ultimately did propose draconian surveillance before backing down) to also decide to fund peoples access to self sovereign data privacy that would INVERT their original proposal and undermine their power and ability to control the people they sought to control. Odd no?

@RichBartlett@infosec.exchange @aral@mastodon.ar.al Even without a bubble, I suspect the race for obtaining (and selling) the latest and greatest chips/GPUs between competing AI companies will likely mean a flood of second hand old GPUs from the last few years. One use for these could be a revival of PCVR (an industry that has all but died out due to PC GPU costs and terrible but popularly cheap arm based Meta VR )
