Rainbow lorikeets are native to Australia and are highly social parrots, often travelling in noisy flocks. Up close, their lovely intricate feather texture is just as impressive as their vivid colours, as you can see from this one I snapped in 2017. They are always a delight to see in the wild, but they are also common in many urban areas too.
