"Greebling is surface-detailing that at a glance the conscious mind simply registers as noise. However, as an artist it's a mistake to treat it as such. This leads to cut corners, little or no care put into the composition and balance of these details for the sake of production time. The crucial part of this definition, "the conscious mind” – greebles are still read and processed by the brain like any other visual element and collectively have an outsized impact on how the object is perceived by the viewer."
