If you look carefully, the river (stream? ravine?) simply stops. There's usually no water for 6 months during the dry season, and it's perfect for walking dogs. Then rainy season starts and it's a river again for 6 months.
But for the last two years, the water has been erratic during the rainy season. Maybe it's one of the subtle effects of climate change or maybe the water company has been pumping too much water out of the underlying aquifer. Either way, not good.
Walking dogs daily is wonderful for seeing the small changes in the environment. I get to see things I would never see otherwise. Anyway here's the little brown dog looking for grass to eat, and a river that simply disappears. You have a blessed day.

Bipolar. Med resistant. I have deleted my account during depression episodes before, but Mastodon is a peaceful place, so I keep coming back to look at the flowers and the dogs.

I'm proud that you talked to the nurses last night. From my experience, a lot of people in your place would not have. You (a) were able to step out from how you were feeling, (b) recognise that maybe how you were feeling was wrong somehow, (c) take advice that you probably didn't really want to take, and (d) talk to the nurses you probably didn't really want to talk to at first.
Each of these things are hard! You don't see doing each of these things as a victory, but they are.
You say that the you from 8 weeks ago would not have been able to open up. And you told me a few days ago that you wanted to be more open. Now, you're doing what you planned to do. You're healing. You are learning coping mechanisms. Good things are happening.

You don't have to apologise or feel embarrassed - I've been where you have been before. I'm just glad things worked out. I'm also glad you were sensible enough and brave enough to talk to the nurses - not everybody can make the two steps you took (accepting it might not be you but your depression, talking to someone about how you were feeling).
Instead of embarrassed or ashamed, you should be going "Yeah, I did it!"
From where I stand, what you did was both hard and a huge victory. Harder and bigger than you think.
Mostly, I'm glad to have you back.
I'm just starting my day, so I'll be off and online for the next few hours. Big hugs.

Can you show the nurses and your psych this note. Or tell them that you are feeling like this.
I've written notes like this before. This is not the real you. These are your depression symptoms showing through.
Scale of 1-10. What number are you at?

But if you're gone, when will I get a chance to groom your chest hair? Also, here's a picture of a just hatched baby turtle, because I have no idea what to say next. Check out the Alt text.

Are the meds triggering high blood pressure? Or is that a thing you have?
