Nothing beats a cozy fireplace 🔥 - but maybe it's not the right time of the year 😅
Say hello to the new flame behaviour!
Rig animations have been keeping us busy over the last few days.
It's amazing what they make possible! The player now naturally touches the wall while walking past it.
Worked on the Door Behaviour Prefab
✅ Improved editor usability
✅ Added events
✅ Cleanup and bugfixes
Still some open topics... but we have a solid state now!
Who knows the originial #AloneInTheDark?
Playing this classic to get some inspiration for our upcoming game! 🧟
Did you ever play it?
We’re working on new player triggers. The latest addition makes the player turn their head towards a specified transform/object, helping guide and control the player’s attention in the game world.
A small feature with a big impact on immersion and interaction.
Hiking, beer, and programming... that's peak #GermanGameDev 😅
We spent the last two days talking about our upcoming game. Everything from technical challenges and gameplay to naming and plenty more.
Had an awesome time! Can't wait to share more with you all soon 🍻😀
RE: @superlaserfreunde@mastodon.world
Ran into problems with Occlusion Culling.
For some reason, a few walls aren't being culled as expected. Already checked the occlusion settings, experimented with baking values and now digging into Frame Debugger.
Always something new to learn 😂
Finally found some time to work on transparent backgrounds for the photocube 📸
It was not easy! But I like that kind of challenges 😄
@asgardius@social.asgardius.company Thanks for the input! We're playing around with a few ideas right now and it's super interesting to read about other people's thought progress. Until then we do the same thing as you and stick with the XYdemo name 😅
Genre, scope, and gameplay for the next game are set - all high-level, of course, but it feels good.
Now we need to come up with a name.
Question for fellow #indiedevs: How do you brainstorm names for your games?
What’s your process for finding THE one?
What did we hide here? 🤔
Lootable drawers, chests, and boxes are essential in most games.
How else would players find medkits or get rewarded for exploring?
Another feature checked off our to-do list!
I know... documentation isn't sexy 😄📖 But when you're working as a team, it's absolutely essential!!!
Created the initial docs for our behaviors. Now comes the real challenge: keeping it up to date 😅
