As for me I mostly post political stuff but also other random stuff as necessary (ie weather).
I'd assert the majority of Canadians are pleased Canada is diversifying away from the US in trade matters, and would crucify a political party that said we'd need to stop diversification to get a deal with Trump that he will likely scuttle when he's in a bad mood.
I don't suppose they realize they're making it politically unfeasible for Carney and the Liberal gov't to pick the F-35 even if they wanted to, but as someone else said to me... they don't care (or they're even dumber then I thought).
I will agree with the Pentagon over 1 thing: I think the review should come to an end & the govt should go with the Gripens (& the additional proposed benefits SAAB is promising we will get). Heck, can we get Sweden/BOFORS to make Archer artillery systems here? #cdnpoli #uspol

This would be a nice "Made In Canada" contribution to Prime Minister Mark Carney 's pledge to diversify away from US sole sourcing of defence contracts.
I missed this part in the news announcing Canada posting a trade surplus:
"Canada's trade surplus with the U.S. reached its highest in six months at $7.1 billion and its share of exports to the U.S. dropped to 66.7 per cent — its lowest ever."
Also:
"Canada's exports to countries other than the U.S. hit yet another record high in March. Exports to non-U.S. countries rose 9.1 per cent in March"
Carney is doing his job (and I guess Trump is too) of trying to diversify away from the US market

I have little doubt he's looking for alternatives to Canadian potash, which has a stranglehold on the US market and which he has a tariff on. He's famously said Canada has nothing the US needs and he's trying his best to make that true, tho he wont succeed #cdnpoli #uspol
