@austinphilp - There is quite a bit of evidence that tech is also prone to human bias. Personally, I think that the focus on finding a tech solution is a distraction and sometimes an excuse for not addressing the human/social problem. Not that I have any actual solution for that one either. ;-)

In science, adopting a new position, might hurt in the short run, but will hopefully be rewarded in the long run. In politics, one is usually punished for changing ones position, which often means loosing ones career. We need to ask ourselves if we reward politicians that are open to new ideas and change their positions or do we reward consistancy and telling us what we most want to hear.

It seems to me that if you can train one AI to trick another AI, you'll be able to retrain the first AI to recognize the trick and avoid it. A technological arms race to "trick" AI modules feels like a huge waste of resources on both sides. I think there are better ways to deal with AI copyright issues through legal and political channels. But, if this get you up in the morning. Have fun.

We certainly do need to see changes in the way that AI companies operate and rules implemented to manage the damage they have done or may do in the future, while maximizing the social good.
