Having an absolutely disastrous day here, total parenting failure. I feel so hopelessly alone and helpless in these situations, wondering if there is such thing as some kind of support group for ASD parents of ASD children. Go ahead and boost if you think it’d be of any help

I often lament that I have failed as a parent to really inculcate a love of books in this kid; other than a couple of Captain Underpantses I don’t think he’s ever really read a whole book on his own. Now, approaching the end of grade six, he’s got his first book report, and imagine my delight and surprise that he chose one of my absolute favourite childhood books, completely of his own accord, and in two days of reading has plowed through nearly half of it. I think I’m gonna reread it myself when he’s done
Just biked 30 km w the kid and it was great. Legal precedent for the next time I propose a 20 minute ride and he’s like “That’s too faaarrr” lol

I long ago realized that being pedantic about spelling and grammar in most situations is at best a goofy flex, and that plenty of people who are way smarter than I am don’t prioritize those things. That said, if your whole dating profile vibe is ~condescending sapiosexual~ while being riddled with such errors, get the fuck right out of here lol
Please forgive the potential naiveté of this question, for I am not a tech person, like, at all, but are the tech overlords endeavouring to turn the internet into an AI wasteland *counting* on its obfuscation of verifiable reality to somehow further their nefarious goals, or are they just myopic dummies high on their own supply?
I don’t know if anybody needs to hear this, I have to remind myself all the time and have certainly not always succeeded. But there are no monsters and no perfect heroes, only people and their deeds. Dehumanizing someone is never the move, even if that person has done terrible things. It’s a distorted critique and I think has at its heart vengeance rather than justice, and I think it’s bad for everybody, maybe especially the person doing it.
