Thinking about... do we even HAVE a word for software that does not need to be updated or maintained? Or is there just the implicit assumption that every piece of software ever needs constant updates, and if it doesn't get them that's a bad thing?

mastodon 4.8.0-alpha.3+glitchHi, I'm Emil (or Emi) Socks! Normally a catbat, currently a goat.
I'm nonbinary, and my gender is "shapeshifter". I don't like being seen as masc or fem. White, born in the 90s. I speak Spanish and English.
My main interests are videogames, mathematics and programming. I like JRPGs, visual novels, platformers and rhythm games, among other things.
Minor follows not allowed! I post a lot of lewd and kinky 18+ stuff in private here, including pictures (always under CW, so it should be easy to ignore if you're not interested). But following aside, I'm totally okay with chatting with people of any age.
Want to be friends? I come with a manual: https://emisocks.com/manual/
Some rough interaction guidelines for those who don't want to read the whole thing:
- Casual conversation is fine from pretty much everyone. I like talking to people.
- Affection, flirting or lewd interactions are okay if you ask first! I'll usually be fine with it if we've talked before.
- If you want to chat with me privately, please let me know! I'd love to have more friends to chat with.
- If you haven't asked first, please do NOT touch me, even over text (hugs, headpats, etc).

@rixx I just wanted to say that this post is super informative for someone who's thinking about setting up an instance sometime in the future, so thank you for writing it!
