@GuidoKuehn@mastodon.social Nope, I've tried using Twitter when it was launched, but couldn't find a place for it in my life. They've changed their rules several times since then already. That's why I'm asking.

all russian people who are not "good rusians" yet (meaning that they are still unfortunately alive for some strange reson)

Fun fact: this is exactly what Russian propaganda was lying for years. It's sad to know that now it's becoming real.

Propaganda works only with stupid people No other explanations are in sight.

That's very simplistic point of view. It's something like when people are saying that genetics fully define the person and environment doesn't do anything at all or vice versa. There are a lot of factors besides the propaganda itself making people believe in this shit. It's very convenient to think that it's just specific person is stupid if they believe in propaganda. But in real life there are entire social and psychological sciences studying how our minds work. And it always never that simple.

I can't say that Germans were stupid when they listened to propaganda. It was a very unlucky chain of social, economical and political events that caused the biggest tragedy of XX century.

But it's not for me to criticize you right now. I can only hope that you and other people who think like that will think critically about that when this ends. Otherwise it'll be just yet another iteration of [probably endless] violence loop.

There is really no sense in MEANINGLESS deaths of ANY people on ANY side.

@brainfucker@mastodon.social Critical thinking is very costly operation for people's brain. In several circumstances it can be switched off even for most brilliant people in the world. Should I point that even Nobel Prize winners were doing stupid things. Linus Pauling is a good example. He didn't cause a war, but he still caused human casualties.

@brainfucker@mastodon.social I can't say that for sure. But I think that YES, I wouldn't blame entire nation for that. Because critical thinking should work in both directions. Otherwise it's just a bias. The same bias propaganda causes. For example I had situations when police were doing unfair and unjust things to my close relatives. After that the victim even lost in court. Do I think there are bad people in the police? Yes. Do I think that EVERY person working there is evil? No. Because I know that life is a complicated thing. I know that not everyone has an education like me. I know that in this country many jobs are provided by government and many factors like that. Do I think that people working for government shouldn't continue to work there after seeing what government does? Yes. Do I think that they can do that easily? No. Don't try to extrapolate that to the war or another things. It's just an example of "complicated" things, not an analogy.

@brainfucker@mastodon.social What about critical thinking about the fact that deaths of all Russians (the same way as Ukrainians) are meaningless too?

@brainfucker@mastodon.social This way you're switching off critical thinking and turning of generalization to ease the process. Can't blame you for that because you have all environmental reasons to do so. But can't oversee that too.
