There is no such thing as perfect security. Don't let being better stop you from being good for now. Too many times the idea of something better being there prevents us from implementing some security measure that works at this time while working towards better.

@krypt3ia@infosec.exchange was part of a shadow cast in college. Then played Eddie 13 years ago in a stage production.

One of the worst things working in security is information overload leading to paralysis. That leads to the I'm not good enough/imposter syndrome.
They way out of it is to narrow focus and not try to know everything. Unfortunately that is much easier said than done.

Nope, not going to summer camp again this year. It is an ROI on Vegas vs. Other Conferences and what do I get out of it.
I enjoyed Summer Camp when I went, but with other high expenses in my life (kid's sports) and work right now not willing to cover the trip, I cannot justify it for me.
To all those going, enjoy and have fun.

Started reading Dungeon Crawler Carl. So far a pretty fun and easy read.

I've heard rumors that El Felon of a President is gonna be in Vegas Wednesday.
So what talk is he planning on giving, and how screwed is Blackhat now?

RE: @malwarejake@infosec.exchange
Sound advice. The last part can sometimes be the hardest but is so rewarding.

Today I performed the National Anthem for the Schaumburg Boomers baseball game. Always an honor to perform the Anthem before events.

@mttaggart@infosec.exchange but, but but, we need to monitize it, or promote our tools with the blog. we cannot just give it away. That is well.. too nice and then the bad guys can ingest our info also.

@dangoodin Patching, at least to me, is they are working on the official patches for their supported versions right now. the Not Patched is no official patches yet. Pretty sure you could still toss in a generic patched kernel at your own risk.
