Contract cut.
Shocked EVERYONE.
One week before my birthday, no less.
Need a job NOW. Remote desperately needed, I know but it is for health reasons. (Also in the DC Metro region where a five mile commute takes 90min at best.)
Like. NOW.
Currently a pentester/red team, edging to purple. Prior exp in aerospace. Up for switching to blue team, interested in DFIR and Threat Hunting.
Or switching fields entirely.
Do I know anyone at Meta who deals with accounts/security/account takeovers?
Not mine, favor for a friend.
Also? I have decent risk analysis skills.
The times I have gone against my better judgement have ALWAYS resulted in bad things. Even when I did so on the recommendation or urging of someone else who allegedly had excellent ones.
Anyone happen to know if there was a breach or dump data showing up for Bezos-mart or Wallyworld in the last month or so?
(Asking for a situation on another platform.)
Boosting this for Phil Brucato, of White Wolf/World of Darkness/Mage: the Ascension (among others) fame.
From Phil:
"My urban fantasy novel RED SHOES takes place in a town inspired in part by the three years I lived in Asheville, NC. Riverhaven resides near Asheville in that book, and so I will donate all proceeds from sales of RED SHOES from now until at least early next year to relief efforts for the people of Asheville.
Please spread the word.

Anyone else start humming BOC while running Balena, or am I having a particularly silly morning?
@LutherBlissett13@kolektiva.social @TurnipCannon@mstdn.ca You're adorable, white man who doesn't live in the US.
Not.
