Given how much is in flux around us this year, this will be a space for members to raise questions/concerns ahead of our annual town hall at CHI, where we update members on the state of the SIG and discuss key issues. We will also share initiatives we have been focusing on and get your input.
We're welcoming four new additions to the SIGCHI family of conferences!
ACM Interactive Health is for work at the intersection of HCI and Health. IH will be in Porto, Portugal, July 5 - 8, 2026. There will be an online pre-conference event on June 1 and registration for it is free. https://ih.acm.org/

Following our Jan 2026 town hall to share feedback on the Digital Library (DL) with ACM, we invite members to read this CACM article on the evolution of the DL: https://cacm.acm.org/opinion/evolving-the-acm-digital-library/. The article lays out the rationale for changes, and further iteration that is underway.
The use of AI on the DL has been a big point of discussion, prompting a new ACM Presidential Task Force (PTF) on the Responsible Use of AI. If you have input to share with the PTF, please email sigchi-president@acm.org.

The 10th Heidelberg Laureate Forum will be held September 24-29, 2023 in Heidelberg, Germany. It brings together Laureates in computing with 200 early career researchers, who can apply directly or be nominated. Nominators need to register using the ACM “Organization code”: ACM49263.

As per our bylaws, the VP Ops serves as a voting member of the SIGCHI Executive Committee, and they (and their committee) oversee operations of SIGCHI’s electronic infrastructure and outreach, serve as SIGCHI’s information director, and liaison with ACM’s technical staff.
