I'd like to share thoughts, feelings, music and art with relatives out there. I'm still figuring who I am and where I belong but I'd like to be part of "the world" here!
I post sketches of music here, and would love listeners to let me know if they listen! If you click the Media tab on my profile please enjoy the tunes!
Some #lakota #language for today. I haven't eaten, so the word is the one for "to be hungry".
Loċiŋ is a stative verb meaning he/she/they/it is hungry
Ik̄t̄omi lila loċiŋ. -> Iktomi is very hungry.
Lowaċiŋ ṡni. -> I am not hungry.
Loyaċiŋ he? -> Are you hungry?
Oyat̄e kiŋ louŋċipi. -> All the people are hungry.
I agree with @beandreams on the kids books. Im currently blanking on more good ones but they exist.
My Ponca friend Cliff Taylor has a book or two, one is called "Memory of Souls".
Oddly my contributions that come to mind are scholarly
- The Indigenous Paleolithic of the Western Hemisphere By Paulette F. C. Steeves
- George Sword's Warrior Narratives by Delphine Red Shirt
the latter has other books I've not read.
Does anyone who sees my posts know the best pigment to use for drawing/painting on animal hide? I'm thinking ink, but please help if you know! Boosts welcome
