I need to be here more often again! I've had my nose to the grindstone so long that my social media presence has turned into 95% shitposting but I forgot how cool and good the community on digipres.club is
Man I genuinely do not give a fuuuck what Derrida had to say about archives. Archives Fever is the cultural heritage version of arguing with one of those "Is a hot dog a sandwich?" guys
Is it normal to mark a folder you're processing as incomplete because of "ghosts"
Hey I'm presenting (virtually) at Code4Lib tomorrow! Here's a slide from our presentation that is completely inscrutable until you know what we're talking about https://2024.code4lib.org/talks/integrating-digital-library-platforms-the-diy-approach
@OutofPrintArchive@mstdn.games Hey! Is it okay to use scans from your site with credit/permission? VGHF is building out our digital magazine library, and there are a few UK magazines we have that we don't want to debind, so we'd love to supplement what we have with the scans you've already done. Thank you!
@The_BFOOL@digipres.club god this sounds like THE best department to work for. Incredible

@LaineNooney@mastodon.social It's just a quick 7-hour train ride on the Empire Service route, which sometimes shuts down when it's cold or CSX trains need to use it. What's inconvenient about that?

@OutofPrintArchive (fyi will download this once I'm back in the office on Thursday, you can take it down after that!)

@OutofPrintArchive If you have them handy, we're happy to give them a second life! We have a nearly complete second run of GameFan that we're going to hard-bind at some point, but it would be nice to not chop up our other copies of those early issues if someone has already done it
AMIA friends: is Archival Screening Night happening this year and is there a submission form?

@OutofPrintArchive Actually, talking with Frank, are we remembering right that you did a few scans of Diehard GameFan? We're going to start on those at some point and we weren't sure if you had those

@OutofPrintArchive Do you still have any of the scans that came out of that, or is that all scrapped or tied up with the publisher now?
