@connynasch@mastodon.social @pluralistic@mamot.fr I feel like there's a distinction being made here between annoying popups and paywalls, which I personally think are worse.
In fact, I generally think that paywalls on news sites have heavily contributed to the downfall of western civilization.
The modern web is so absolutely infuriating to use that it makes me not want to participate in this society anymore. Worse still, little by little, piece by piece, they're whittling away our ability to control our own browser.
