@libreovergratis@mastodon.social @gnome@floss.social You'll fine that often the people doing work in the same field have respect/friendship for each others, unlike tribalistic users :/

@ebassi@mastodon.social HarfBuzz? Yeah, that sucks.

@gnome@floss.social @phosh@social.phosh.mobi It really gets closer and closer to be a viable alternative to the duopoly of closed mobile OSes/ecosystem (Jolla is great too BTW). Congrats! It raises a question, tho: what is the relationship/collaboration between Phosh and the mobile gnome-shell initiative? Are you guys/gals converging towards a shared future? TBF, as an outsider/non-contributor, I'd love to see the sadly too thin workforce avoid segmentation. Of course, each of the contributors do whatever they want :)

@retrimental@mastodon.social @ebassi@mastodon.social Can't really help you. HarfBuzz, Freetype, the toolkits and their responsabilities and interactions are a mystery to me. But I know that half the world (GTK, Qt, Chrome, Firefox and many others) depends on it for displaying text.

@neurovagrant@masto.deoan.org Bad Magpie seems right in your alley! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixtwifLrU5M

@mariospr@fosstodon.org @igalia@floss.social I'd love to read the slides deck of a blog post about it. Good luck for the talk!
